My dad born Oct 23rd 1924 to Bobby Jo Carter miles down the road from cousin Jimmy , born Oct 1st 1924 in Plains . Thanks for all of the Carter side of the family for being the strength . My dad was proud of his Carter roots .

President Carter was a great man. He will probably be the first president to reach heaven. Whatever you may think of his politics and his decisions as President, he was an excellent leader. I would love to know what Carter said to the Iranian government that made them keep the 52 American hostages alive and fed for 444 days. Especially after the attempted rescue mission. Only an excellent leader can balance being cold to his enemy yet caring for his hostages. For that I will always admire him. Colonel Charles Beckwith, the commander of the hostage rescue mission, described President Carter best when he referred to him as “tough as woodpecker lips”. Those of you from Georgia know that is a high compliment. RIP President Carter and First Lady Rosalyn Carter. 🇺🇸🫡

I was in living in Sunderland too at the time of his visit and well remember the pride the people felt that he should visit. He visited the Pyrex factory close to where we lived. He was a great President and respected all over the world.

The "funeral" of James Carter was beautiful. My deepest condolences to his extended family. I know people think well.. 100 years of life to celebrate but I am sure that his death still feels like they can not believe he is in Heaven. :) I lost older man mentor friend who was 88 and everyone said: don't be sad.. he had a good long life: it still hurts to lose a loved one or friend. I am a Christian conservative and I am very familiar with Carter's Christian roots. They were an amazing couple and delightful generation of children. C-span did a decent job.

I believe that would be President Gerald Ford’s son. President Ford died in 2006. (Edit). Ford died on Dec 26, 2006. Almost the same day as Carter.
