WOW, what a cool idea!
I'm thinking an even better way of laying them out, would be to put down some strips of black colored silicone and cornstarch mixture, and them lay these strips in that instead of cardboard, and then you could have a roll of these stuff that you could retread your tires with??
Looks like a lot of work, but also looks really cool IMO.
