I really want to hear more from that girl… that little verse gets stuck in my head all the time. Also, the look on Ben’s face as she’s singing is incredibly endearing. Everything about this movie is just incredible
Chevel Shepherd
@@user-zk5rt3gb3e I’d look up “travelin soldier” from her time on The Voice, very touching.
@SO-cg9jd FINALLY!!! How did you find who sings it? THANK YOU!!!
@@SO-cg9jd She is the daughter of Cybill Shepherd and Sam Shepard.
@@psthisiskaty do you not know about IMDB? 😅
Just watched this on the plane and was a massive surprise. This film is right up there with Big Lebowski and Barney's Version. Excellent script, and Ashton kills it. His final monologue is the most profound of this decade. It perfectly sums up the world we live and everybody reading this right now should listen to that monologue at least 3 times...goosebump stuff.
This film has a recurring theme, of writing what you know, observing what is around you - and then translating that into art. Several characters argue, this is the only way to capture your true voice as an artist. This song, about seemingly the most uninspiring topic in America (working at a shopping mall, in a mega-chain teen store, Claire's) manages to exemplify the film's argument exceptionally well....as the girl's story comes through as authentic, and genuinely moving.
Wow.! What an insight. Everybody has a take! Yours is right on target.
Excellent observation.
Pretty basic point of view. Go back to grade 9
I can’t stop watching this scene.
And I would pay money to have the rest of this song written and recorded…
For him this was honestly impressive as far as dramatic roles go
He was SO good
A superb performance . This should re activate his acting career.@@Spiderstan727
unless you've lived it- aka been homeless- then you'll never understand just how devastating having 'nowhere to go' really is. The worst part is being abandoned; left all alone, everyone who should care about you doesn't... 'waited and waited for NO ONE to take me home' it hits hard.
"I finished my shift at Claire's" 💀👏
Such an underrated movie
2:26 If you wanna skip the inspirational speech and go straight to angelic singing.
Ahhhhh... her voice is a refreshing sound
This needs to be a song 😢
God, that is good.
I thought this beautiful why so many haters?
Lots of people are idiots, and if a movie sails over their heads all they can do is deride it ... over and over.
I have to see it
Coulda just told her to sing instead of hum
Damn
early
Third 😀
I thought this scene was pretty overwritten, and honestly he’s just not a very good actor. All his monologues in the movie struck me as being very overacted and unnatural.
You're joking, right? He was phenomenal in this role and that was the point of his character
Bad take
This comment is the epitome of pearls before swine. Dude, Kutcher was perfect and the writing for all his scenes is profound, to say the least.
@@mvumsiayo3214 oh, the irony.. how old are you? like.. 14?
Hot take but I respect it.
