@prowlus The Titan sub was poorly designed and the CEO fired those that voice safety concerns. This was actually the first civilian submarine death ever! And litte manned submersible have been around since the late 50s.
That's a submersible, as it's purely battery powered and relies on a support ship. A submarine is larger, typically has its own powerplant for long duration travel and does not need a support vessel.
Enrico Ziegler I think you mean it’s 101 atm @ 1000m not 1001 atm. And if so then yes you’d technically be right as it’s 1 atm at sea level and +1 atm for every + 10m. But we tend to make the calculation / approximation easy and just say 100m = 10atm etc
Mauro Tamm From what I could see (altho I didn’t get to play with it so I’ll check with Lee&Buck for you), it was a direct analog for the arm - move slave arm up, manipulator arm moves up. Lee had incredible fine control of it
A voyage in a sub like this would be a dream come true for me.
tell that to the crew of the oceangate titan

"science basket" - brilliant
Joe Brown Hey guys what should I call the basket we put the science in...?
I love greg. The smile he made when the scientist said he could get into the sub shows that he's just a nerd for science like us. Brilliant video.
After videos like this your job seems to be the best one can imagine.
Yes true
Im freaking geeking out!!! aaaaaaaaaaaa
Subnautica seamoth?
Too awesome!!
Brilliant expedition!
This what deep sea subs are meant to look like
I FOUND THIS VERY EPIC
Pretty cool, would be awesome to get a chance to dive in a sub.

This host gosh! He makes me wanna dive deeply into him 😍🔥🔥🔥
Very interesting!
Sea&me - Marine stuff with Maria thanks!
In short - sinking part is the easy part.
Gallen Dugall ha! Yes! Also sinking *slowly* is kinda important too!
The whole submarine is sinking, what do you mean?
@@realDys. lol
How cold or hot does it get in there when there are down in the deep ocean?
Also looks like it would be useful for throwing aliens out of airlocks.
Seamoth...
It kinda looks time the sea moth from scrubnartica
Greg is so cute.
Easy there tiger, hoooooold yer horses. And queue up! There's a waiting list as long as your arm.
Take my money I want one
it surfaces by propulsion rather than by buoyancy?
They need to build a seamoth from subnotica!
Well it's 1001atmospheres, the pressure of the atmosphere is one

Greg Foot I'm a scuba diver and we don't do that. 30m is 4atm. 1000 would be 101
hello der
Blue PLanet ll
That controller for the arm looked awkward to use. Shouldn't it mirror the arms direction? Felt more like "move it left and it moves forward".
Mauro Tamm From what I could see (altho I didn’t get to play with it so I’ll check with Lee&Buck for you), it was a direct analog for the arm - move slave arm up, manipulator arm moves up. Lee had incredible fine control of it
What are research submarines made of? I'm not sure but I think its aluminum
youtube im not dumb i know how a submarine works any way good video as always bbc
one hundred and fifty-fourth!
Easy, they don't float, they sink.
Greg Foot!
John Ox 👋
Greg Foot 👌👌
John, Greg is that you??? haha
debunk bunked Wut u mean?
Quick question: What is the benefit of using a manned sub like this, putting lives at risk, compared to an ROV?
Not a place for a person with severe claustrophobia.....
second!
If you ever build one, dont ever take a women for a ride and accidentally chop her body and throw it in to the water.
This is so not going to make sense to non-European people xD
Madsen approves
