- Nanga Parbat in the Pakistani Himalaya is the 9-th highest peak in the World (8,126 m/26,660 ft). Fairy Meadows (3,300 m/ 10,800 ft) offer stunning views to the mountain and hike up to one of its base camps.
Fairy Meadows is reachable via 1.5 hours Jeep ride (along a road considered one of the most dangerous in the World) and 2-3 hours hike. From Fairy Meadows the trek to the base camp and back is around 8 hours, reaching 4,000 meters altitude.

Don't know about Rockies but as compare to Alps these mountain are majestic in size.
Pakistan is the OG out of all these mountain places. 5 out of 13 8000ers, 108+ 7000m peaks, nearly 200 6000m peaks, all the 3 great mountain ranges of the planet Karakoram, Himalayas and Hindu Kush only meet in Pakistan. There is a reason why it's called the *Rooftop of The World*

there are 119 lakes, more than 5000 glaciers, almost 101 peaks whose height is above 7000, 23 forts, 75 polo grounds, 39000 rock carvings, 4 national parks with most famous DEOSAI also known as roof of the world, 3 sanctuaries which are home of 230 species of birds, 20 species of fresh water fish, 54 species of mammals, 23 species of reptiles and 6 species of amphibians... but still there is much more which is untapped till now.

We couldn't built road there cz of those regular landslides. You've choice that you could hire a horse or could go there I'm jeep as well. I would my self prefer horse ride.

You are truly a brave man to travel in a vehicle on those roads, I have seen footage of the opening scenes on that roadway before. The Fairy Meadow site is unusually attractive and civilised for a location so high up. I imagine at that altitude that it would take some acclimatisation to breath properly. Stunning stuff, I have run out of superlatives but this is truly magic.

I was just googling about karakoram highway and saw fairy meadows in the 'people also searched for' section, and I thought, wow, is this in Pakistan? So I read about it on Wikipedia and learnt that this place was accessible by a jeepable road. Next I searched RUclips for fairy meadows and saw this video and the 'jeepable road'. No thank you, all my yearning to see this place just died with that road.
I'll excuse myself with, 'there's a pandemic. Who travels anyway'. Goodluck to those taking this road. It churns my stomach.
