What I felt like Gorr should've done was wished for the destruction of all gods. Then Eternity wouldve woken up Knull, a Marvel Character who killed Celestials and was the creator of the Necrosword. This would've been a great big threat like Thanos was.
This. So much this. Getting rid of all the gods didn't have to mean killing them. It could've simply meant turning them mortal. This is exactly what I thought when watching the end of the movie. Gorr was defeated by Thor not in combat but when he tricked him into a selfish, emotional discision. Not to mention, utterly lacking in creativity! Why not wish that all the gods become good? Why not wish that all of the evils the gods have wrought on the universe throughout time were undone? This would also resurrect his daughter, potentially. He could've even made the universe into a paradise, where no one ever dies or suffers and everyone lives in eternal bliss. But no, he makes a selfish and worse, shortsighted and unimaginative wish to resurrect only HIS daughter. Honestly this is an even dumber move than Thanos wasting his snap on a horrifically immoral solution to a genuine problem that won't even solve said problem in the long term. But at Gorr is ultimately just a normal guy corrupted by the necrosword, so his stupidity and lack of imagination is more plausible. The only nitpick I have is the contention that gorr was only kind of right. He was right, full stop. True, making all gods mortal would be preferable to killing them. But in theory, if given the option between killing all the gods and maintaining the status quo, killing all gods is the right choice, both practically and morally. As you point out, the movie provides zero evidence of any adult god being worthy of sparing. Even thor, the absolute best of them, is really kinda a douche. If the price of ridding the universe of thousands of evil tyrants is the death of one douchebag, I say go for it.
The movie was mistaken in its portrayal of Gorrs motives being rooted in vengeance. It was actually an altruistic, righteous quest rooted in the desire to rid the universe of the tyranny of the gods.
