Awesome project, came out great!
Hi
Are we getting a colab or a new vid jlaser
Thanks Jake!
Do a collab 👋
hello Jake im a big fan and inspired by you and hacksmith, I'm making my own channel, i have already made many things with cardboard now I'm gonna start to make with tech!
To be fair, Superman also gets exhausted if he uses his heat vision for too long, so getting tired on the black paper part is actually a pretty accurate response.
Ikr
😘
Huh
Neat
I think thats only for the supergirl cw live action one is way more powerfull so he doesnt get tired
TRUE
I don't want to imagine what would happen if someone tried to break into their workshop. This guy's arsenal grows by the second.
@The King might take longer than 10 min, they have a lot of equipment.
well if you watch the Hackalorian short movie they did, you see what happens. Sorta
@The King and they wouldnt use any of the gear or defend themselves, sounds accurate
@The King do you think they wouldnt have time yo grab at least something?
@@abizarreyoutuber6317 There gear is cool, but let's be honest, non of it is really weapons grade or really practical in actual combat. (Due in large part to legal restrictions I believe). A couple of thieves using actual weapons, like guns, would be more effective. Sure the lightsaber would be deadly but you'd have to get close enough to use it. Some of the other things they make could be deadly as well, but not nearly as effective as a firearm.
It worked extremely well tracking your eye movement. Great video as always!
Yeah
This actually looks like a super cool idea for an "inventor" type supervillain. AI enhanced weaponry and lasers, pretty sweet.
A supervillain could just watch all the hacksmith videos, then after robbing one successful Bank. They can have an army of powerlifters, full set of superpowers, minions with a Halo helmet, and a railgun. Hacksmith could explain how a inventor class villain could even be powerful.
You mean whiplash?
The glorious evolution
Viktor. You're thinking of Viktor from League of Legends.
The villan would be able to create all of the heros weapons like hacksmith does in real life
This was exactly what I suggested to do on the Predator shoulder plasma blaster. Imagine three dots aming everywhere you look! And you can builtin glasses into the predator mask
Honestly, it felt more like predator shoulder cannon 2.0 rather than sup heat ray.
@@BoyBlunder66 From my understanding of what's available, I'd worry about misfires with current neurolink technology.
@@GryphStone Think of the Predator targeting laser like a mouse pointer. It was just using the reticle to select potential targets for the shoulder cannon to destroy. That's why you'd always see the triangular bounding shape appear over the target's head after it was selected. The bounding shape was continually tracked, even when the targeting laser wasn't fixed on it. A similar control mechanism could be created for a real life Predator shoulder cannon.
@@florians9949 yeah it looks like 80 power armor
Oooh dopeee
I’ve always thought about a “superhero” character who uses technology to create… well, EXACTLY this.
Basically a “grounded” Iron Man version, whose’s main armament would be these “artificial laser eyes”.
So it’s really cool for me to see it in action!
Though it would be pretty epic to pair this with the jetpacks that Gravity is making
Or a supervillain
That's pretty neat
So like a year 2 batman sorta
Charles is the best! Honestly one of the coolest projects yet.
Writing with lasers controlled by your eyes is mind boggling.
I am amazed at how good the eye tracking of those glasses is.
For the price of 10k you'd expect it to perform well
@@Mart77 I mean yeah, I still find it impressive tho.

Is nobody gonna talk about how good charles is at whistling... or the fact that the laser changed colors as it went through the cardboard??
It might be more 'Cyclops' than 'Superman' but this is still pretty damned awesome. As you noted, our eyes move a lot more than we tend to notice. Maybe build in some sort of 'lock on' feature so once you've acquired your target the system will stick to the point no matter how you move/look until you toggle it off?
This doesn't sound that far fetched, he was using a hand control to fire the lasers when at full power, they could use a two trigger control like a fighter jet. Cep the top button is held down whenever eye tracking is wanted, when released it switches to an IMU to cancel out slight body movements, and the pistol trigger switches betwen the low power aiming beam and the full power destruct-o-beam when pulled, and back to aiming eyesafe mode when released..
honestly it reminds me more of the camera man titan in skibiti toilet
Charles is always absolutely brilliant to watch, seems like a genuinely nice guy!
Charles is the best!
Hired on the spot. Dude beyond smart

Legit basically stole the hacksmith logo just tweaked it a bit
@@shadowbaconwarrior5604 my logo comes from my grandfather's company born 60 years ago, the fact that it is in black and white and looks like us is a coincidence. But I don't have to justify myself with you 😜
How can people be so creative like you guys? I am impressed of what you are doing
I literally was the only person I knew who watched Smallville growing up. No one from school or anywhere even mentioned it. Mostly people were into Harry Potter and Twilight. Smallville was a fantastic show. It really resonated with me, and I have the look of a quintessential Clark Kent. What a dream it would be to dress as Superman and emulate his abilities with tech.
Badass gadget
And the editing was really impressive in this episode.
This project was so small yet is possibly the most dangerous Hacksmith project yet! Great project!
If the trigger also had a wheel that let you tweak the horizontal angle, you could use it to adjust at what distance the laser would meet at a point. Or, have a second laser calculate the distance and do it automatically.
I love this series, it’s so creative
you know it’s a good day when hacksmith uploads, keep inspiring
Ah, yes.
Thursdays.
I love this cause I like how you explained how you did it and how well it tracks your eye movement
Cool project as always but like others have said this has serious potential to be something inspired by the shoulder cannon in the predator. The tech here is perfect for that!
I think this is the coolest project you guys have ever done. So awesome!
This is one of the more impressive projects you guys have done in a while. Like you could really go out and kick ass with those. All you'd have to do is look a criminal in the eye and they're done
I would love to see all the gadgets he’s built similar to this put together in his own super suit that would be so cool
Talking about eye strain to burn through the cardboard, look into a lock option that’s remote controlled, so you can keep it on one target without continual staring. Could also let you quick target to the next.
Plenty of coding, but at least the lock/freeze. Stay on. Off by a trigger might help.
Love the tech Hacksmiths!
Eye AND body strain -- gotta stay perfectly still too!
Make this into the Predator shoulder blaster, that would be even cooler.
One day, this Man will make the world's first Superhero... Mark My Words

Or villain. Do we REALLY know?
@@roachdoggjr722 actually nah cause if the superhero can fly with jetpacks and stuff , shotgun wont have range. Till a person becomes superhero , our inventions would also increases so propper bullet proof suits and stuff will be made. It finally depends on the superhero
@@codeomatic4351 The superhero would need to be over 100 yards away and have a better shotgun
What's a good build. A portable mini zombie furnace. That's a mini furnace that can be carried on the run against zombies. When you in the clear in a safe spot. You can make some weapons from metal scraps you find in your location. That means you would have to properly have to wire it up. To be be used with a powerbank or any type of solar panel.(SOLAR BATTERY BANK.) Maybe a solar vest to connect with the electric. Furnace. So when u on the run. The panels charge by sun and u can make weapons when in the clear. BTW. IT SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIT IN A SMALL BAG/POUNCH/ PURSE/CAMERA BAGS. Whatever you want to call it. Needs to be light to carry. You can even try physical energy. Electricity boots powerbank that charges everytime you run/ move.
Would have been really cool if you used the eye-trackers (rather than a range-finder) to find the focal plane of your eyes, to know where in 3d-space you are actually looking. Would also let you "burn" a point mid-air.
This is definitely one of the better devices you guys have built. You should build it out better with a single laser on the shoulder. That way you can make it more accurate, powerful and less bulky. Kinda like the Predator gun.
Something baout connecting few lasers into one much more powerfull and accurate. Yeah, that's great idea
Now send it to styropyro for some real damage...
"This baby can blind every person within your viewing distance and melt through concrete."
Great video. I followed the process of creating the "miracle weapon" with great interest. We all remain children at heart. And it's cool that these guys have retained this enthusiasm, and the belief that everything in this world is possible. 😎👍
Awesome to see the Mindlink, something I've been working for a while now, on appear in one of these videos! Very cool!

You too I really needed that my life has not been going well
Have a good day yourself.
I’ve been watching you for 8 years, I’m 15 and you have truly inspired me a lot! Thank you for being such an inspiration in my life.
Me too.
You’ve really been watching them since their how to string a bow tutorial
Same for 3-4 tho
Actually probably since the Wolverine claws then came back with the iron man gear
Your not alone
The calibration system at 8:00 looks exactly like the ones in older games that see if you want to invert the look controls.
Interesting math behind eye tracking too.
In principle, the two rays traced by the center of your pupils perpendicular to the back to your fovea should intersect at the 3-D location where your eyes are focused.
From there with a calibrated cameras, you can pretty easily map this to a location relative to the camera.
I’m curious if a monocular eye tracking approach has been attempted, as you can search for key points in an image along a line, to estimate the actual object that an individual is looking at.
For that use case there is no IMU required. The IMU becomes far more useful when discussing VR and AR applications where the orientation of the cameras matter
Imagine Styropyro gets ahold of these... Danger incoming...
This was brilliant! But really did bother me that the 2 lasers didn't converge to a single point.
Im not an engineer or anything but this is my suggestion. Have the specs track only 1 eye, and have a single laser shoot the target. A separate camera can locate the 1st laser, and 2nd laser can be programmed to shoot it.
Hope thats possible, would love to see it. Also if it is possible, can hook up any number of additional lasers to converge in on the primary laser. Thus beating superman! 😲
It's possible, just a lot more software and tuning -- The LIDAR doesn't hit exactly what you're looking at because its fixed -- the lasers can converge to a single point, it's just very complicated to do so
This super lazer eye project is really cool, can't wait till you decide to make a real life flying superman or just making a real life superman kryptonian armor/suit
The precision of this is so impressive
This is so cool guys, keep up the amazing work!
Wow i'm impressed. These inventions keep getting better! You should make like a jump pad or rocket boots next.
Question, are they going to use shotgun shells and shock absorbers or massive amounts of compressed air?
Personally , I'd feel safer with shotgun shells strapped to my ankles compared to the risk of a heavy pressure tank rupture...
If you do make shotgun powered "jumpad" boots , you will need cybernetic exoskeleton legs that distribute much of the force to your hips and above so the shock of sudden acceleration doesn't shatter bones and joints... (Then I want a pair to replace the use of my disabled knees so I can get back to jumping off roofs and stuff) I've given such a project much thought, just haven't gotten access to the resources and skills to do it yet. You have that access! Make it real !!!!!
This video was edited really well amazing build
a coisa mais legal desse canal é o fato dele existir

Coolest thing I have ever seen which actually works.
I really want to see you guys make a lasgun and lascanon from wh40k. Since they're so nonstandard between worlds, you could create something truly unique and just awesome. And probably every bit as powerful as the ones in lore are. I'm just not sure if it would be compliant with laws. Still be awesome to see.
it wouldnt be as powerful as in 40K, Lasguns could blow holes in concrete. But i would love seeing a lasgun made by these guys anyway lmao
@@cuttlefish6132 I assume that they could find a way to make them as powerful as lasguns, but yeah, I'm not sure if it's entirely legal. I've kind of got an idea on how to do it, too, but my laser knowledge is... Lacking and may be very (dangerously) wrong. Lasguns are very powerful, generally on par or even more powerful than a 50 BMG today. It's just a testament to the enemies they're used against that they get called "flashlights"... But you can't deny it would be awesome to see the whole team all dressed as Cadian troopers welding Cadian pattern lasguns and shouting "Cadia stands!" As they mow down row upon row of manequins dressed as chaos cultists.
The lasers reminded me of battletech/mechwarrior lasers, I guess because the shoulder mounted thing kinda looks like what you'd see on a mech

Yo props to the man programming by him self
It looks so unreal like CGI. 👌 👏 👍 awesome
That was pretty awesome, adequate eye tracking, and the amount of code it took lol. Good job Charles on that front. I wonder what other things eye tracking can be useful for. The Scan Visor from the Metroid Prime games come to mind, perhaps you can even add it to your thermal imaging visors to focus on one point so you can estimate its temperature directly.
Question about the tracking: I notice that both lasers looked to be about the same distance from each other when on the wall throughout testing. Do the glasses themselves only scan the motion of one eye rather than both, allowing for the lasers to move per-eye, or is that related to the software used in making the device?
Great video as usual, and awesome job to the team that worked on it!
"Hi! Thanks for the good question. The glasses scan both eyes and calculate your gaze position in 3D-space (X, Y, Z), but the depth is not particularly accurate beyond a couple metres. So we used, where possible, the LiDAR to correct for the parallax between the lasers.
The glasses are able to produce separate data streams for each eye, but as an azimuth and elevation instead of 3D-point. This is still a beta feature, though AdHawk is working to improve it and add it to the API.
For the final tests, we had issues with the LiDAR providing spurious readings because James' hair kept getting in the way, so it was turned off, leaving us with lackluster convergence of the lasers. In bench tests, the two lasers would often land within millimetres of one another with LiDAR assistance, but that was not an option - they were fixed to a convergence distance of 5.0m for most of the test you see in the video." - Charles

Can't you upgrade this by using lidar tech, and see the distance between an object to therefore angle the two lasers into one point. I think it would be much stronger!
They have a range finder on the shoulder...
Watch the whole video and you'll see us upgrade it with lidar tech ;)
@@theHacksmith hahahh no I watched the whole video, what I meant was you using it to direct the angle of the lasers automatically and regurarly. Edit: for instance only one of the lasers were used for the cardboard. This video was awesome though
We did use it to direct the angle of the lasers automatically! That was what it was for -- the cardboard example doesnt work because the lidar would see the first cardboard, and only focus on it, then when the lasers go through, they would cross paths and diverge, that's why we only used one laser =)
@@theHacksmith then the measure isn't accurate enough(I'm sure the math was good) , I like another commenters idea to use the point made by the first laser to aim the second one or more. ALL LASERS, CONVERGE!
