I agree, this version is excellent! But I don't know why this is listed as the demo, it's the version off the album! there's the "stoned again" version which is in the music video. there's an actual demo of this but I guess it got mixed up?
fun fact: Stuart zender doesn't play bass on this track, it's played by "Mr. X", a dude who stayed anonymous for many years, but was eventually uncovered. Forget his name tho lol
@@godkingdoom He's called Paul Powell. Zender plays the original and wrote the original bassline - often refered to as the Stoned Again remix. When this version was done later, Zender was on holiday so Powell came in as a session player.
I've read an explanation of the song's meaning by Jay Kay, and then I listened to it one more time and thought it was so sad that I wanted to cry. Drug, isolation and your imaginary friend suddenly appears. One hell of a masterpiece

Well... this isn't the demo version, although the demo version is top notch too.
This version was the first Jam song I ever heard many Mr. Moons & albums ago and the minute I heard that bassline in the break, I was hooked!!😍I asked my friend, WHO IS THIS???😳I own every CD, seen them the last 3 times they came to the States & will see them when they’re back for the upcoming album tour, got backstage, blah blah. Yes, I’m a mega fan. This is the best version and will forever hold a special place in my groovin’ heart!💖🤟🏾

I never new who Jamiroquai was until an episode of Game Grumps Ten Minute Power Hour where Arin said his favorite song was Space CowBoy my Jamiroquai. Now it is my all time favorite song. At least the demo version don’t really care for the original. But that might just be because I didn’t know the original one existed for a long time.
I just watched that episode not too long ago. I found out about them because the composer for the Persona 5 OST was heavily influenced by their first album.
