Old video. I've been to Barlow many times. Aunt and family still live a there or around there. At 15 used to sit at the 1 stoplight at night with my cousins acting like kids. And running the river bottoms with my uncle in his old cherry red flat bed.
mverick160 hey that’s cool
Greetings from New Zealand. Excellent products.
When doing a "cook still run" Place a false bottom in then some golden straw to act as a filter then pour on the mash! I am a fan of what you guys do! Keep it up!
Hello from Joelton! Love episode #3! You new building is looking great! Your stills are beautiful and so cool! Hope to see more videos soon!
Sounds like you have a good setup going for ya -The product sure looks top notch .
That was totally unexpected, dint think i'd enjoy watching. The products are all beautifully made although completely over the top, but this looks to be a really enjoyable way of life :)
thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for showing your misjudgements, it makes me feel good about mine, and hes me top making the same as you. your honesty highlights your integrity. thank you once again.............
That is a very nice looking still. If it would be cheaper I would order one.
Love the show guys. I've been following y'all since i got into distilling in January of 2014. I'm looking forward to having you build a rig for me in the not to distant future. I'm in Michigan and distilling is really catching on up here. I plan on bringing the southern hills tradition to the hills of northern Michigan.
I've saved a burnt mash from the drain. It took some carbon and a five stage filter, but I saved it. Redistilled it and it came out clean.
Is it a good unit? Does it produce 95 percent? I built a 60 inch x 2 inch column with a 12 inch cooler column. It is like a Fractionating style still. The still is mounted to a 13 gallon beer keg. The cooler column itself is a 12 inch long 3/8 inch copper tube. I boil around 74 degrees to 84 degrees (the temperature controls itself) for 5 to 6 hours and produce about 13 pints of 95 percent ethanol. Some of it is put through a carbon filter at about 2 pints per hour, and the rest is drunk as is. Does my still do a great job? It has been doing a magnificent job for 8 years now, and it does not miss a beat. Oh I nearly forgot, what did my gear cost? Wait for it... It cost me $80 Australian. Cheers.
I'm in love with your videos more please!!
Not if you get the proper permits. Here in KY it isn't illegal to own a still. It is illegal to produce and sell alcohol without the proper permits. It isn't illegal to distill and sell water (which requires a still).
So,You guys get an offer from A&E,TruTV or Discovery yet?Better than some of the shows they have now!
You can bring the water to temperature in a large pot like that, then cook the corn with the damn elements off. It will gel just fine over a couple of hours.. Mash in the malt a about 153 degrees and stir and stir and stir.
Easy
Круто ребята))
You do the best stills I've ever seen....good job! shame I cant afford one.... do you ship worldwide?
If to overtake the ferry and to make corn by means of the steam generator that will burn nothing Yours faithfully, Vyacheslav.
Is it true? that you have keep and make available "Still Customers' Records" to ATF/LEO if they ask?
Thanks & Peace
Moonshine has its roots in Boston first. No kentucky. the earliest settlers were irish whiskey makers.
The pot still design was used in the old country for hundreds of years.
Its a fractionating column not a reflux column in the truest sense of the term
Is there going to be an episode 4?
this is just a reality show.!. it's not about the un-affordable products at all.. disappointing
