Solo Leveling (나 혼자만 레벨업) is a Korean web novel written by Chu-Gong (추공). It was first serialized by Papyrus on November 4, 2016 and ended with 14 volumes and 270 chapters. On April 13, 2018, a webtoon serialization was released on KakaoPage, drawn by artists Gi So-Ryeong (기소령) and Jang Sung-Rak (장성락). It officially concluded on December 29, 2021 with 179 chapters. A spin-off webtoon series based on the web novel's extra side stories was also launched on January 21, 2023 and is currently still ongoing, having already released three chapters.

0:31 The thing with Jin Woo dropping the stone for the second time now is that he always chooses the most dangerous paths and hesitates to escape, so that's why it keeps happening. Usually, it's the other way around, but he has been screwy in the head since the beginning, even when he was the weakest. It's still frustrating to see happening 😂

This was a great freaking final episode. Jinwoo became something incredible. And that scene inner struggle with former himself too? This was a great anime from front to back and I'm so glad it's getting a season 2. This was top anime of the winter season
Season 2 isn't confirmed yet, this was simply the first cour of the first season...the second cour of the first season is confirmed for later this year.

When he released the 11 shadow soldier he didnt sacrificed them for igris. the reason is because he can extract upto 30 soldiers which he did BUT he can only save 20, so he released the 11 so he only will have 19 normal shadow soldiers/mage then igris to save

27:16 that place is not jeju island. Its a special dungeon made by the system just for jin woo. All the places he went except the normal gates, were provided by the system. He is basically playing a game within a game which is designed specially for him. That place is not from jin woos world. Its a s rank special dungeon i think.
Jeju island is a real life famous island near korea. Its been 10 years since the gate appeared first. And three years ago the s rank gate appeared on jeju island. Korea raids and tries to subjugate the gate two times but fail. So they kinda leave the place alone because of heavy casualties. Chio is planning a third raid so they are scouting the scene and assessing the threat level.

They have to do something with the pop ups of the system. People don't have enough time to read them and miss things. The 11 shadow soldiers dismissed weren't sacrifices. Jinwoo was experimenting with his new 2 skills. Shadow extraction and shadow storage. Shadow extraction with a limit of 30 targets lets you target a corpse and summon it as a shadow soldier. Shadow storage lets you keep 20 of your summons in an extra dimensional space. So he used shadow extraction for the maximum amount of target and saw Igris. Dismmised 11, leaving only 19 summons so Igris would be the number 20 to keep.

Jinwoo never heard of Diablo II Necros.
The had to get permission to go back to Jeju Island because they got destroyed three times already trying to reclaim Jeju Island...and the world can't afford to keep losing their strongest hunters. The problem now is that the world hasn't gotten stronger and the ants have been evolving, so as hard as the island was before, it's even harder now.
Adorkable, your theory of the Demon King's Castle being in Jeju Island makes no sense in this one regard...Sung is admittedly a high B or low A rank at the time when he fought against Taeshik, which was after he had fought Cerberus. Jeju Island was raided 3 times already by S class hunters and they failed each time, so there is no possible way Sung could have reached an area of the island that multiple hunters more powerful than he currently is now couldn't reach.
The worst possible enemy is "SHADOW MONARCH." Shadow army + Jinwoo being on the front lines smashing /slashing and adding more on his army of shadows.
On the other hand, why is the jeju island part being pushed forward . Correct me, please, if I am wrong. I think there is 2 more parts before jeju Island. Isn't it too early?

at one point in time someone must have sat on that throne wich begs the question, was jinwoo actualy the first person to get these abilities?
If he was a Necromancer, likely he wouldn't have been able to use these inanimate Knights as Summons, the limitation likely would have required it to be a dead Biological being/organism. So him being a Shadow Monarch removed this limitation and looks more at the Soul/Spirit of the creature.
Honestly the lack of proper monitoring in the SL-verse is fucking insane. We can't go 15min without doing something that can be easily traced in the real world but in a world where monsters can just come out whenever there is no system in place to look out for shit, never mind an S rank dungeon break? Thats Cap!
Thats just Solo Leveling in a nutshell. The manhwa was the same. S tier art and action, D tier characters and F tier for internal logic/world building.
Watch this show for the spectacle, not for making any kind of sense. It will get WAY worse in future seasons. Just roll with it.
Tf u talkin about? What do think the hunters association does? Plus its so logical the dungens have been privatized with the guilds and stuff for profit as it would be in any real capitalist world. Plus keep in mind the phenomena is new in their world too so people are only getting accostomed to the new world just now.
They left Jeju Island alone but kept a constant monitoring around it to prevent other people from going inside and killing themselves. Plus they didn't expect that the Ants would evolve wings to fly out of the island. The Winged Ant is a huge oversight and already makes the reconnaissance the Hunter's Guild is doing already justified.
@@ras_baba1801 It is literally a repeated plot point that gates are found at the last minute and even later not at all in urban areas which should have a system in place that inspects every building for them to avoid needless loss of life. No they do not monitor it well at all nor do they appear to have any real system in place even though said system would only amount to just having someone from every building check the rooms a couple times per week like basic security would do anyway and would cost very little.
Also no, it does not make sense it was privatized because literally every nation on the planet does not privatize their national security. Contract out less critical aspects of it sure, privatize no. The idea that these powers would spawn and governments wouldn't set up their own system to avoid individuals from gaining so much power major nations can't afford to higher them is stupid.
@@jled787 Except any proper monitoring wouldn't have missed something like that, and they do not imply at all its being watched actively here. Maybe in the webtoon they did but even then what spurs the raid is an ant making landfall and killing a bunch of people so even then it makes no sense. If this is in the web novel then they already knew that was a possibility and should have been even more vigilant. The SLverse never mentions any major military conflict that takes resources away from Korea such that they can't properly blockade a small ass island. They don't need hunters to watch it, just normal military that can call it in as soon as anything sus happens.
Igris in the pocket... I'll only drop these two names. Tank and Iron that is all. Can't wait for the next half to come into play so much fun to watch the reaction of the non-manwha/novel fans.
So the show didn't really show this very well but he used stealth to identify the number and location of mages based on the eyes they conjure, which was 5head...also this is kind a spoiler, but kinda not as he suggested it himself this episode, but the class upgrade was always going to go down this route no matter what he did, the system is leading him in a certain direction for a certain reason.

His undead have the same blue light and black that we saw with the statues that killed him in the 2nd episode. I have a feeling that this isn't a coincidence and that this will be important later in the story (I'm anime only, so no spoiler replies please). I actually suspect that the "god" statue might have similar powers to animate things and gave them to the main character through the "system" for figuring out the way out of that dungeon trap.
Necromancers can't be front line fighters? Alucard from Hellsing is basically just that--he's a monster in a fight, but he can also summon armies of enemies he has killed to take care of anything he isn't immediately fighting.
Also, I think that we are just glossing over the fact that he got a 0 MP telekinesis skill that can be used offensively. That strikes me as a stupid broken ability.
How would the main character even become a villain in this world? The enemy is simply the gates that are screwing with humanity, and humanity needs strong fighters. The morality of those powers hasn't really seemed important so far, so I can't see anybody objecting to him being a necromancer (unless he starts using his powers on humans, if this is even possible). If he were to reveal his powers at this point, he'd likely just be a high rank hunter who gets paid.

This is a masterclass on adapting Manhwa. Screw the weirdos that whine it's different, no duh. If anywhere near 1:1 this would be a trash viewing experience. You need people passionate about the material to adapt it in new and interesting ways, including things that didn't happen in the OG content, and cutting certain stuff.
