you could see Dana got so upset after Dominique came after him not paying fighters enough 😂😂
Yeah after he defended LeBetard not having to fight Dana yesterday, after LeBetard called him out, two wet blankets these ESPN kids are
Its only like the 8th person to in his last 12 apperances haha
He is attacking his business. A defense was warranted.
@@TSP3NC3 the question is also very well warranted and an answer should be as well
he still hasn't forgiven Ariel for leaking UFC 200 and possibly getting the UFC sold for less than it would.
Dana explains this incredible news in detail...
Max: so let me ask you about these fighters not on the card.
Google “three popular UFC fighters” remember they’re names. Ask about them. And repeat. Boom your a traditional sports reporter talking about MMA
Although Max is better than most at least he knows boxing so he’s a little more adept. But still not good.
I like the move to ESPN for the fighters sake and for the sport but I hate that it comes with this new style sports reporting/casting/drama show junk.
It was so cringey as he was changing the subject from fight island. But yeah you're right
Pissed me off dude he had a good chance to hear Dana say something new/:
Dana should have a giant throne he gets to sit on and watch the fighters for his amusement
Mortal kombat style
he can watch his mandingos while also paying them in pennies
With monks by his side.
Palm fronds, grapes, ringside girls, goblets, libations...🍸
Dana should also have 6 exotic women in metal bikinis fanning him with huge leafs... and 2 white tigers laying at his feet...
Nique will never be on screen with Dana after this 😂
Bet dana threw a hissyfit in his office once the interview was over 🤣
I was like who is this guy asking all the rela Questions he should be interviewing Dana instead of that shill Brett
Somehow he made Max look good
I mean I agree with both sides, but , like Dana keeps saying. These dudes don’t have to fight . You don’t like your income? Get a real job. I’d fight for. Quarter of what they make. These guys get popular and big and expect fighting to carry them the rest of their life. The UFC never promised millions to fighters, and some actually make millions.
Danny Osvaldo those were some of the most idiotic questions ever asked.
4:23 Dana starts talking like Chael for some reason
It's a very real thing
Ok great
@@abmk2193 As the playground rules dictate
Woow big fella!
My god lol good eye. 😂
Dana: Announces Yas Island, megacard, this that...
Max: "So, How bout Conor?"
Gotta give Nique credit, the man isn’t afraid to ask anything.
Although he sounds like a blabbering idiot asking it. There are other promotions, which means there is an open market. If they feel they are worth more $$$ then test the open market. Simple fact is that the UFC is the best marketed and highest paying promotion for 98% of the fighters. If the fighters names are so big and they think they are getting underpaid then try Belator or One FC and see what they are currently paying and if they pull viewers over to that promotion, then so be it. A contract is not forced, and just because they are fighters not negotiating from a position of power, it sure looks like Mayweather, McGregor and a few others marketed themselves into positions of negotiations.
@@brandonb.288 the fighters want to do that but your contract says you cant fight anywhere else for x amount of fights
@@brandonb.288 The problem is whenever they negotiate for more money they tack on more fights on their contract to lock them into the company. Masvidal is turning 36 this year and has 8 fights on his contract. How is he supposed to test the waters with 8 fights on his contract? Then if he is able to negotiate for more money they'll tack on another 2 or 3 fights. Listen to DC talk about the contracts and you'll see what I mean the whole situation gets very weird. Even Conor I bet is locked into the organization, noway they're letting him go.
Foxworth was just fishing
Nah he's a dvmba$$ and got a little bit triggered because he's talking to a white man!
Domonique had Dana moving mad!
He's an idiot.
Because he has no idea what he was talking about. Dude was just blabbering. dana’s mind was blown that some football guy tried arguing with him about contracts
@@hamsnadwich He made a valid point about fighters not being paid enough to begin with that it wasn't a problem to get contracts and fights done during this economic crisis. The sole reason other sports aren't operating is because both parties, the athletes and suits, don't want to accept less money. Meanwhile the UFC gives fighters peanuts, so they can still operate.
@@hamsnadwich I think that guy knows more than you, look at his background, whereas you're just an internet commentator who doesn't even know how the UFC does deals(ex: Overeem vs his management)
@@hamsnadwich He clearly knows more about it than you ffs, Dana is wrong on this one big time
Dominique Foxworth remark was good: so many fighters over the years (including popular champions) has voiced their dissatisfaction with their UFC contracts, but the UFC being THE organisation, those fighters have no leverage.
They would greatly profit of an union or a Fighters Association to oppose a unified front to the UFC.
They cut out the best part!!!! Nique says “for now” in regards to Dana saying he only 2 fighters complaining meaning more will soon follow and Dana’s facial expression was priceless! he was sooooo pissed off lol
Main event. Conor McGregor vs Jorge Masvidal . BMF title. And problem solved with 2 fighters
Nate?
@chinniwonkenobi , alternatively, it could be called the "Can't Compete Against the 155-pound Division."

I'm good with that!
I bet Dana didnt expect this heat coming from ESPN lol
Lol, yes. I had to verify the ESPN logo at the bottom
He thought he was getting SAS, instead of an ex-NFLPA president
@@mkashiff1 same lmaoo
goter dordel I’m sure he did
I wouldn't expect it either. ESPN has nothing going on, nothing at all, its content is on a loop (so much so its talking heads have taken the time to pretty much slaughter Drew Brees for respecting his flag - just for the content) and its live sports have been replaced by reruns.
So as the one guy providing live sports and taking his announcement to their platform, offering four dates in a row, and then having to sit through a tirade sprinkled with references to other sports, unions, and leverage, based on the output of three fighters...
... it's odd to me that the one sport still trucking and the guy who looks increasingly worn out with each appearance, seems to be under attack from every angle, and already people are bitching about the cards like they'd prefer no live sports at all.
Ain't nobody been standing in the way of fighters unionising for over a decade. MMA media used to be pretty heavy on the union coverage, fighters association, some form of collective bargaining... when versions of these materialised it emerged that the people at the top were out for themselves.
But MMA media, they gave fighters tips, their articles explained laws, their talking heads begged for it to happen, and they churned out content explaining what it might all look like. Then even they calmed down and stopped hammering on the topic because the fighters just never, ever bothered.
Jones knows Reyes beat him and seems not to want to fight him again. Masvidal can't wrap his around why he wouldn't make what he did against Nate, because Usman ain't Nate and never will have that drawing power, and Nate pretty much conjured the BMF making that event unique in terms of PPV. McGregor, well, he just didn't get his way, his season was ruined...
... so now he spends time tweeting news he knows will supplant the excellent achievements of the fighters on the most recent cards. Get three fast finished in a row, two incredible KO, and Nunes breaks records... but everyone is talking about the guy not fighting.
"No no no i want you again" lmao
Dana!!! Lol
no one wants to talk to molly.
"Oh, I can't wait."

Never thought we'd see dana be more accommodating to khabib than conor. wow
@@pauldavis5665 i dont think you have ever signed a contract in your life
@@xxWildflowxx I don't think you even know what a contract is.
@Irish Gypsy The point Masvidal was making is that Dana makes the fighters continually resign new contracts before their old contract is up so they are always under contract and never get their true worth down the line when they deserve more. It's not a negotiation it's take it or leave it. There is no other option, no other decent alternative besides something less like Bellator. The fighters need to unionize (every major sport has a players union) or something because they are only getting about 20% of the revenue far from the 50% for most sports.
First time Dana has exposed conor publicly. Conor talks about "anytime anywhere- stay ready- I show up "and yet is ducking real fighters. Khabib has him shook and changed him.
Conor is a millionaire already. Why stepping in with no camp, no fans, no PPV points and no fair revenue. He's loyal. But he's in no position to get less than fair money, just the opposite

Think about that for a second. NFL has 3x the employees and the lowest paid is $440,000 higher than the lowest paid UFc fighter.
Ok, but you can argue the NFL is further ahead than UfC. Let’s compare a similar valued company, like NASCAR, who was valued at $2-8 billion compared to ufc which White said was valued at $7billion.
The minimum salary of a NASCAR racer is $100,000-200,000 AND any prize money they earn. They are driving cars, compared to getting punched in the face. You tell me again why fighter contracts work.

They really should get a higher percent, fingers should at least make 33%
That's why the other sports aren't operating, both parties would get peanuts. Meanwhile UFC can afford to take the loss because they make 80% of the money anyway. They pay their fighters about $1-2 million per card, including the $50k and $10k discretionary bonuses, and they take the rest. The gates are usually 500k-2m on average. ESPN pays them for 500k PPV as minimum, which is about 30-35m.
It's not the UFC fault if you signed a contract. Maybe when it's time to sign a new contract they can get a better manager who can negotiate better terms but you don't get to sign a business contract and do take-backs less than halfway through it.

😂😂😂I had to go back and catch that. I can see them flipping that quote
How do those reporters not have a reaction when Dana announced the UFC 251 card. I WAS IN COMPLETE SHOCK
Because they are ESPN reporters...not UFC reporters. They have no clue how nice a card 251 is. Those are great matchups.
Now I’m not as annoyed with the eye and calvillo card
He 100% ducked the question
No he didnt they both signed contracts months ago .. what else is he to say . If the contracts were not up to par why did they sign them . Over 600 fighters on contract we are talking about 2 smashed that argument
@@pokepook5388 you must only get your info off this platform because there are a ton of fighters that are fighting for better pay
Ufc anti trust lawsuit google it
It aint about the contract, its abouts the fighters not just jorge getting their worth, he even said hed take no money just higher ppv which is fair cos then the better it does the more he makes and thats how all fighters should get paid 18% is a joke to all the fighters but they too scared to speak up incase they get released especially the new fighters they're just happy to be there so theyll take anything even if they are being ripped off
First time I ever seen Dana look a bit tired . This salary talk getting to him
There's been more than just 2 fighters upset about their pay which is pocket change compared to what Dana and the UFC get.
When those fighters fund their own company and build it to what it is over 25 years and walk in the exact same shoes and steps the owners have then they deserve similar results and financial success. Wanting the same rewards as someone but taking a different path, steps and choices is ridiculously naive.
This gonna b brazy
Brazy brazy bro
Still ways away for rose to get injured and pullout.
It’s crazy* you Neanderthals
usman gone get ko
And your white 100%
Who else thinks Burns is being rushed here?
Darren Till Part 2?
I honestly dont remember Woodley even really touching him up so he should be okay
I dont see anyone else who can challenge Usman right now. Burns looked great vs Woodley, made him look like an amateur. Maybe Covington in a rematch? No way Masvidal can wrestle with Usman
Burns isn't ready. He should have gotten T Wood out of there in the first round not let him hang around for 5 rounds. I think Burns was open to plenty of shots and leg kicks. He is not ready yet. Maybe in two more fights he should be going for a chip not now.
@@trevorharmon1 Sometimes if fighters get dominated so badly in a fight..They never recover and get back to their previous selves..I think thats exactly what happened with Woodley..He entered the fight with Usman as the favorite and came out of it dominated, outclassed and humiliated..It was that washed up version of Woodley that Burns beat
5:00 Dana isn’t crying he was just saying the facts. Just saying.
The athletes weren’t crying either they too are stating facts
Rrezon Jahja not disagreeing. Foxworth just came at it wrong. I don’t know the books of the UFC and what he can pay his fighters. A lot of them are upset tho
@@rrezonjahja853 no hey aren't, they're entitled. Sugar Sean O'Malley is the only one deserving a new contract.
Dana White is the best sports commissioner of all time. It’s not even close.
Patrick Beverly about to catch a fade with Dana White lol
I'm kind of on Dana's side here regarding the contract. Seems like masvidal and Jones want more money because they think they're bigger stars than they were months ago. First of all no one forced them to sign the contracts and would they be willing to reduce their pay as specified written in contract if their careers were going downhill NO THEY WOULDN'T . They want all the profit shares of the business but none of the risks.
If their career was going downhill and they had a bad contract the UFC would just cut them. Imagine defending the UFC...
@@cp970 UFC doesn't cut you after just one loss. They will probably get multiple fights even if they are performing bad. Will they take pay cuts for these bad performances ???
In Jones case I agree because he hasn't gotten any bigger but masvidal has after the Diaz fight and overall fighters aren't payed that well but don't wanna speak out because they don't wanna get cut from the UFC.
@@kingkazma5937 But masvidal just wants more when he probably has a good deal in first place. With no stadium audience and situation with coronavirus he should just feel thankful that he's getting paid that much and honour his contact. Maybe after corona he can complain about his contact.
Dana White is taking advantage of MMA fighters
Danny Varela
More like..MMA fighters are taking advantage of Jon jones faking wanting more money to retire because he knows MMA has caught up to him given his last 2 fights.
He just wants to retire on top.
He probably planned on adding more to his legacy until his last two fights.
So you have no idea about fighter pay?
That last statement by Dana says it all.
Mma always has new stars coming in and out i respect dana for sticking true to his word
Look if Khabib ain’t complaining, I don’t believe these other complaints simple as that. Khabib is as truthful as the come in the UFC God willing in comparison to These others.
Yusuf Raw khabib ain’t complaining? He has a fight ,Conor was literally suppose to fight Justin after the cowboy fight and Justin took the title fight. Jones is the best of all time and doesn’t get his pay. Masvidal just got big and is bigger than khabib already😂Conor v cowboy made more than khabob ever would
“I slap the head off um, it’s business as usual”
-ESPN Interviewer
That dude was asking good questions when it came to the money issue with UFC fighters.
As a UAE expat. YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!! ABU DHABI BABY!!! (even though fans are not allowed, i can always check them out at the airports.)
Khabib land baby.
Same here.. but i'm shocked they're putting an octagon on the beach - the humidity and heat is terrible right now.
People can be mad but when u sign that contract your obligated to your duty
so you think jones fighting ngannou in heavyweight for a superfight should get the same pay as him fighting blachowics in light heavyweight?
@@xxWildflowxx yes,if he accepts the fight! People are always gonna complain about there pay, then if dana white breaks to 1 or 2 ppl everyone will want a new contract, he's running a business
@@Mr.Dread-Head
Exactly.
@@xxWildflowxx Plus he doesn't have to fight Ngannou. NBA players sign a contract at the beginning of the year pretty much, they don't get more if they make the finals.... but they're in a better spot after it's up.
Contracts could be broken if the terms & conditions aren't met...some got a duty & some got a lawyer. A contractual obligation could be void and have been in a court of law. This isn't Cuba or Venezuela where you got no choice
CARDS ARE STACKED GODDAIMMM
I agree, nobody on First Take ever heard of any of them though 🎈
Yeah it's not
UFC pays about 20 percent of revenue to fighters. MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL pay close to 50 percent to their athletes.
The difference is, those other sports weren't also on the verge of bankruptcy just 19 years ago. A fairer comparison would be to look up what those other sports paid their athletes 19 years into the sport.
There's a long history of every laborer conflicting with the employer over compensation.
@@Waynekurr you are right. It's not a new issue. It's kind of surprising that khabib has less value than Connor. How does that make sense? And it's not even because of the pandemic.
Sgce noMalume because Khabib is boring and Conor brings more money in
I wish espn would find better people that actually know the fight game!
It's a mainstream platform, it's what they always wanted. This is real life not Sherdog.
You realise one of those guys is Max Kellerman right ?
@@ashleysmith91 yea but the other guy lol
I stand with Dana, be greatful to be working and making money, ufc 250 there was 3 bonuses, you have more eyes on you know with NO other sports So this is the time to make it happen! Go show him why you need a % , but yea if you signed the deal thats on you
It'll get lost under the Foxworth vs Dana stuff, but Dana literally threw Conor under the bus for ducking Tony.
but it's true tho. Conor did say he'll be ready to fight if that fight falls through.
Conor should stick to his whiskey, I’m tired of him getting me hyped for nothing
It’s good to see someone at ESPN calling him out rather than just bowing like a sniveling coward company boy.
Is that Stephen A. Smith talking about fighting again! Hahahaha
