  • We Bought a house that has had zero maintenance in 20 plus years. It was definitely more worse for ware than we thought. Currently we are still not moved in but we are hopeful. Stay tuned for the build and updates.

Way too many places to squirrel things away to be lost.

I would definitely hire an electrician to rewire...all of it.. if you are gonna be repainting everything, would suggest getting it all replaced before hand.

The items in the ceiling look to be servant bells.

I will have to look into this as there are door bell buttons everywhere, maybe 2 per level 3 or 4 in the lower level and 2 in the bottom out building.
I was originally thinking fire alert or a crude motion for security system but I think this would predate that.

How old is that house? The bathrooms look like perfectly preserved vintage tile from the 1930s with those very cool vanity lights. The basement also has true divided light windows. The molding all looks like it was replaced though which is a shame. Hope you save the bathroom tile and other old features! Divided light windows are a real treasure and extremely expensive today. If you insist on making it look "new" realize those vintage bathroom light fixtures and such are worth $ so please don't trash all that stuff.

1959. We are leaving a lot of its old features but trying to make our own.

@@FcDominick Mid-century modern is very popular right now and will likely remain that way so the original features are nice. FYI cedar closets/chests were used because folks wore a lot of wool or even furs back then and moths often destroy it quick if it is stored away.

Secret room? It’s called an attic 🤦🏻‍♂️

There is no attic. Just a place to crawl to access wires and roof vents up there
