Could such a servant of God excavate such deep truths of the soul without having first been in the trench of dispair himself? NO..... I dare say Sibbs words will not be tasted or acknowledged unless the hearer himself is acquainted with his own vileness and been chastened for it. We only have to look at David in Psalms to know the sorrows and anguish of a man in his awakened soul... is such a blessing and a healing balm, when the Lord in his grace steadily weans us from the trust in self and weary us from our beloved sins, stripping us of all confidence in the flesh, the love for the world and its carnal pleasures. Such is the mystery and the love of God in Christ Jesus. Sadly, we are ever ignorant of God's way in bringing his saints to heaven. As Christ said : in much tribulation you shall enter the Kingdom of God. All of God's people without exception, have been tried, tested and suffered on the earth, from Abel, to Abraham, the prophets our blessed redeemer Christ the Lord and his own Apostles, thus a true professor is known as much by his peace as his inner conflicts with himself the world and the devil. Born again Christians must deny themselves, pick up his cross and follow our Savior, to fight the good fight of faith. Remember if we desire to save our life we shall lose it, but if we lose our life for Christ's sake we shall find it.
