They did that for balancing. Would be a boring video to watch a battle when one team has all legends. It was too obvious this time around, but they do this all the time. Not to cheat, but to help the videos be more entertaining.

@@mysticfox9718 I agree as well. Me personally, I rarely, if ever use legends in any game. Besides for a few, legends usually aren’t my favorite or really that cool. It’s not fun using nothing by OP Pokémon. There are cooler and more fun, but also strong Pokémon that makes for better gaming. I still use strong Pokémon, don’t get me wrong. My favorites are Electivire, Noivern, Metagross, Feraligatr, Tyranitar, and Haxorus. Which are all basically OP anyways, but I they are a bit more balanced than most legends. I will usually play games and pick types. Like this run through, I can only pick electric type or poison type, etc. that is usually a fun experience. So I love when they do the No legends or only one. Rayquaza is the best legend though. Haha

I feel like a proud parent watching their kids grow up seeing Quick and Chillin making competitive teams and battling. I love their randomized videos too, don’t get me wrong, but there is something so neat about seeing these two showing all their gained knowledge for battling, from Gen 4 and 5 randomized “then we battle” videos (classics forever) to the era of SW/SH and Scar/Viol with occasional competitive team builds from random selections. It’s like a protagonist story arc

Here's an idea for you both:
Roll a D10/ Spin a Wheel
Whatever the number, you must encounter a Pokémon with something pertaining to that number (E.G. roll a 3 and encounter a Tauros which you catch because it has 3 tails).
Overworld encounter
Random Pokémon
Random abilities
Fully evolved
3 skips
Roll 10 sided die/ spin wheel with 10 numbers to determine feature of Pokémon to capture

23:50 actually if I'm not mistaken, in Gen1 there was supposed to be a pokemon based off turban shells, a kind of shellfish that looks really similar to the shellfish that is biting slowbro's tail.
That pokenon was supposedly scraped, so I guess game freak just used the next available shellfish pokemon in Gen 1..

Love the videos! Just watched patterz and they used 3 teams of random starters and assigned them out. Balancing out teams and last round was all legendary.

He wasn't sure that it was Palkia, so (as he stated) he went with the safe pick. He basically knew he had a Special tank on the board against something that was high risk/high reward (despite Clamperl not being available), so he played it more conservatively. He also kinda knew what Chilln was packing up to that point and could've used it as a pivot against a Special Attacker.
Say it *was* a Clamperl (though where would "strider" be from?)...exactly what would it do, aside from either mixed (Huntail) or Special (Gorebyss) Shell Smash shenanigans? Hell, according to Smogon, Gorebyss is ZUBL and Huntail is ZU...these things rarely see the light of day.

Idea or suggestion for video: Can you do a cheese-only round? It would be for type, ability, held item, and moves. For example:
Celesteela: Heavy Metal, Heavy Slam
Fast Baby: area trap, destiny bond
Shedinja: wonder guard, double-team
Spiritomb: wonder guard
Electric type with levitate
High HP/Low Def/Lots of Weaknesses with Innards Out
Snorlax: Rest, Yawn, Snore

Challenge Idea for a silly one-off osrs reference. (You guys did NFL so why not lol) Make a wheel with all the different runes of runescape. (Skip the combination ones. Just the main 15 ones ( Air, Water, Earth, Fire, Mind, Chaos, Death, Blood, Wrath, Law, Nature, Cosmic, Soul, Body, and Astral.) Then each take a turn spinning the wheel and catching the first Fully Evolved pokemon you see in Sw/Sh that relates to that rune. (Body, maybe a fighting type. Mind could be psychic, etc.) It's a fun nod to the runescape fans and is simple enough for anyone to understand. Love the vids guys, keep it up! :D

foul play uses the opponents attack stat, not your own pokemons attack stat, thats why spiritomb one shoted
Thought on a challenge:
Since smeargle can learn every move in the game, you could catch/hatch tem for random IVs, but could choose whatever moveset you want

Paradox names are like scientific names something similar you had for ultra beasts but they had an actual name too
Battle idea: catching at least 12 random encounters, then splitting them up into 2 teams depending on how you’d like to balance them.
Could catch extras to allow skips during catching, before or after checking moves, if you’re feeling a lil skippy that day.
Yall should do a run through of pokemon revolution online and go through the story like rivals, after each gym or boss battle go against eachother and the you can’t use the same pokemon as the other person

Unlike most other players, they didn't invoke the dupe item clause. If I recall, GG packed four pairs of Heavy-Duty Boots while Chilln had at least two Lefties.

Challenge Idea/suggestion- Legends vs. the world. One trainer catches 12 legends and uses the best 6. The other trainer catches 12 of whatever else he can find, pseudos, ultra beasts, starters, whatever. All catches are over world of choice. Then they battle.

Perhaps a metronome based game of chance and trade. Use metronome on legendaries spotted over world, damaged pokemon join opponents team, unaffected or otherwise become yours. Maybe both trainers get a single pokemon trade at the end for some spice.

Foul play does attack based on the mon it attacks. So Spiritomb had 120 base attack for that super effective foul play. 2 x 95 x 120 is a lot of damage.
