Bob here, again. I think I can fill in the long notes with 1/8 notes in an acceptable manner. Yours seems to be the best tutorial of most fiddlers. Thanks, Bob

I would like to work this up to play on mandolin, but I'm not sure how to fill the spaces between melody notes with eighth notes. Every mandolin player seems to do it differently, so I suppose it would not really matter as long as it "fits within" the measure. A March is a different tempo from a Reel, but the measure has the same number of notes -- 8 eighth notes, or similar equivalant. This tune is in D major with 2 sharps. A good key for a lot of tunes. Thanks for any advice, good people and especially mando pickers that have solved this problem to make it flow more smoothly. Bob in Montana
