Thank you for this lesson. Never had turnips. A friend gave me seeds, thus grew turnips. Now got to find video on cooking them, and recipes. Always learning new things. Fun. 😊

You explain the small details that makes the process make sense. I knew about the jars cracking, but you told that they would crack around the bottom. I don’t know why I was afraid of that, but, information make a difference. Your cadence is comforting. Builds confidence. Thank you. I appreciate you.

yummy fantastic for storing for any pandemic . I have made my box bedroom into food storage now. it's got so crazy I'm still getting giddy from the illness. im telling all your loyal friends please don't buy anything from China. they tried to make the world weak without thinking of the universal law of the wave. I myself have ordered from amazon a pressure canner. not from China. I look at where the item is coming from. before I order.. iv got nothing against the people just thair leaders. love turnips. just with a nob of butter and lots of black pepper. love you all so much🙏🌹🌈🌻🌻🌻🌻🥀

Ugh. I didn’t know until recently that you could can turnips AND the greens!! We threw the greens in the compost and then, since we didn’t eat them fast enough, we wound up throwing the turnips in the compost too. About a week after we threw them out, I found out you could can them. I didn’t think about sending you a message to ask!!!!!

I canned turnips before. But wont again. That smell of the turnips gets stronger as they are in the jar. I couldn't handle that smell. Kale gets really strong smelling after they are canned too. Will dry my greens from now on. They work so good in anything you put them in. And they dont water down your dishes you put them in. Like frittata and quiche etc. Been canning for 42 years now. And before that I helped mom and my grandmother and saw my aunts can. That is where I learned. In fact I use my grandmas canner. And I found another like it years ago at a garage sale for 5.00. Just needed a new gauge and seal. Got those for under 20.00. Got most of my 100 or more dozens of jars used. Great deals out there if you look in the winter and early spring when others arent thinking about canning yet. I can pretty much year round. I can all my own soups as I'm allergic to gluten and dairy. So I cant find store bought ones. Can on everyone! ☺

We always went to garage sales and asked it they had canning jars. Its amazing how many people had them but never thought of putting them out until we asked. I got 100's of beautiful jars that I'm still using that way.

A med/lg sized stock pot can usually be found at thrift stores. Mine came with a nice glass lid.
