i love this watch model. I’ve had mine 14 years this month, and for 10 of these years it was my only watch. however, you were inaccurate in your first sentence. the model featured was an update of previous incarnations of the Milgauss, as part of a small range which was brought back by Rolex.
I own a Milguass z blue. fantastic watch that gets lots of comments. You are right in the Rolex mindset of keeping up with modern technological scientific equipment. Example, My wife had an MRI scan a few months ago that I attended with her. Guess what watch I was wearing that day, yes the Milguass. I asked the radiologist how many Guass does the MRI scanner produce. She indicated that the scanner produces up to 3 tesla, basically 30,000 Guass. I,m guessing there few watches, if any can resist this level of magnetic field.
@@StandardTime Rolex make this watch from a historical perspective. Almost like the ED White 321 it’s not meant to be the best watch in its field. We all know Omegas etc etc have 15K gauss readings. Z blue is perfect just the way it is. Next year will see the end of the model imo.
@@NEROROYAL I’ve heard the omega criticism of the milgauss before, hodinkee did a test using a 4500 gauss magnet on a milgauss and aqua terra, neither were phased. I suspect the milgauss is likely as resistant as the aqua terra or similar but it’s rolex, they aren’t going to change the name of the watch every time it’s retested to a higher value
@@adama4791 Yep I never thought of it like that before. That name Milgauss is historic why would they change it. Additionally the lightning bolt and green un patented crystal has never been replicated. The prices on the grey market have not budged either unlike others in this price drop 🤝
@@StandardTime I like it just the way it is tbh. Legendary piece with an army of followers. Price hasn’t budged either on grey mkt. Appreciated more when it’s gone I believe.
Dear sir, your videos not only entertain the watch lovers , but also provide them with interesting knowledge. I appreciate your effort sir . Keep it up sir
So much misinformation in this video. The Milgauss was updated in 2007 with the addition of non-ferromagnetic materials in addition to the faraday cage, and the Milgauss is actually antimagnetic to 7000+ gauss, independently verified (Google is your friend). This entire video is pointless, you need to do your research better.
'Faraday Cage' (it is not a Faraday Cage btw) is such old tech... ...a mechanical watch is old/obsolete tech, which is rather the point of a; mechanical watch, sail boat, horse, etc... Further, there are significant anti magnetic features of the Milgauss 3131 calibre that multiply the effectiveness of the 'Faraday Cage' by more than an order of magnitude. Further still, there is no such thing as an a amagnetic material to the best of my knowledge. Every material becomes magnetic in the presence of a sufficiently strong magnetic field.
This watch will be discontinued: no more sens even to call it 1000G when competion (omega) garantees 15.000G. And rolex is not a "follower". Especially with an "old" mvt. They will use it until depletion of "old" mouvement.
Many thanks for your excellent coverage of an iconic classic that still somehow remains to be underrated... also got to say that i agree totally: Rolex wanted to get scientists laid! thanks for drawing attention to this obvious fact... you're hilarious!!!

If they get rid of the faraday cage, I think it certainly will. There will probably be a nostalgia around it. A sleeper milgauss right now would be the discontinued white one. They’re well under hyped and I don’t see the values dropping on those.
@@StandardTimeUpdate movement, make it slimer (non serous materials + parachrome spring instead of Faraday cage) keep the lightning bolt hand and the the green relection in the the crystal , change the casing to matte titanium.

Nice. I will use this story to get laid 😂
I got a GV black dial in 2014. Still love it. The green crystal…
Would be great if Rolex can update the movement to improve the power reserve and also make it a bit thinner.
The source of the thickness is the faraday cage, I wonder if they could choose to retain this tech and make it thinner

The scientists do not earn enough for a milgauss. Believe me 😂
Facts
hahaha one can hope!
This watch can easily be ONE and DONE.
Certainly!
What an entertaining and informative video! Great work :)
Thanks mate!

Haha thanks mate. I appreciate your kind words.
I own one of these. Once a lady said "you have a Faraday cage? who do you keep in it?
She left two days later.
😂😂😂
I think white dial is the one to get. It has classic look for the future more rare Rolex doesn't make much white dial.

It didn't help me at all, I need a refund now
Hahaha
What do you mean: has not updated since 1956??
The tech used for anti-magnetism
@@StandardTime In that context, entirely correct...
Every scientist has to do with 1000 gauss :D
Another great video brother! I’ve never been a fan of this modern design, but the vintage ones ❤️
Keep up the amazing work 👍🏼
Thanks! You too!
The Milgauss' specs are outdated. Almost every Omega sports watch is superior by now
Yep! I’ve no idea why they would update the airking before this!

This is true but I like both a lot (for romantic reasons obviously). But there are certain Omegas I do like even more than the Milgauss.
Great video!! Do you think the Milgauss will shoot up over time?
I saw what you did there.

😂 I like your thinking!
A great watch from Rolex
Most certainly!
this was a great video
Thanks Abraham!
Funny :) Enjoy the watch, one of Rolex more interesting watches for sure..
I really like the design too!
Absolutely 💯. Excellent video. Move it to +11 Sheldon gets more love 🤣
Hahaha
Such a great take and video. Well done!
Thanks mate!
I'm so done with Rolex. Chicks everywhere. That's why I wear a Grand Seiko now. Finally some peace in the nightclubs.
😂😂😂
Interesting revelation!
Haha 😂
Pshhh shit is GORGEOUS
yes indeed!

We do care the latest technology and the movement as a scientist. Yeah rolex honoured us 50years ago but not anymore with this outdated specs
too much rambling
I see
