I have a theory about why the "Fallen Survivor" runs from survivors. If the common infected view the survivors as monsters.. It's possible that the fallen survivor thinks he is still alive, and will attack. After getting hurt, his survival instincts kick in and he runs off because sticking around could get him "infected" (Even though he already is, but would be unaware of this fact)
Given they seem to become "enraged" when they see a living person (hence their rush and attack).. I'd say it's probably a vague sense of pain. They "Notice" it, but amidst the raging emotions and their foggy nature (not knowing where they are, what's going on, feeling sick but not knowing why), their adrenaline kicks in and they continue fighting. Considering that prior to infection they likely knew of the green flu, it's very likely they attack so unrelentingly because the one thought they can clearly make out is "Monster.. INFECTED! KILL, KILL, KILL OR IT WILL KILL ME!". For how I imagine it feels.. I would say look at the Japanese Banzai Charges of WW2, taking bullet after bullet but continuing anyway because of adrenaline and refusal to go down until you've done as much damage as possible. Once you stop charging? Once the fight or flight is over? Chances are they will feel the effects of the pain MUCH more vividly. But while they are fighting they are in last stand panic mode because they chose fight over flight (Where-as the fallen survivor chose flight, instead of fight). TL;DR: They probably notice it, but with the adrenaline and everything else in their clouded state of mind, it's dulled heavily.
Then again they do basically vomit their guts out on a regular basis.. I'd say they probably do actually bleed out if damaged, it just isn't encountered in-game due to them not being around the player long enough for such to happen. The other thing to consider is that they may not even have the capability TO bleed out because their body may no longer require oxygen (for whatever reason, insert "green flu hijacking" here) given they also aren't shown to have a need to eat in-game either.
John Wilkinson if you think of it in the comic they made it shows that the zombies see themselves as alive (albeit injured/unwell but alive) and survivors as monsters/zombies meaning the fallen survivors probably having survived since they never fought(may have seen them but hightailed it) or maybe they fought one special infected and won but weren't too keen to try again with others and started fleeing when he sees one but now? They see that somehow things are normal again instead of hordes of zombies walking around its groups of people trying to protect their communities after everything but then suddenly new Specials appear and bad enough as the ones he saw in life were these are worse because they use guns and bombs and blades heck in the comic they even saw Zoey and Louis with demon wings and red eyes so of course he'd default to fleeing as he had when he saw a witch or hunter then "cause it kept him alive until things settled down so it will work again!"
Even though its not legally official fans of zombieland and left 4 dead like myself still like to think the connected universes could be a thing, especially when zombieland's cover looks like a l4d loadiing screen poster
The similarities don't end there. The movie is centered around 4 different protagonists, who all work as a group to get around. (The only difference being there isn't any sort of 'finale' at the end of the movie, where they escape). On top of that, the zombies in the movie aren't slow moving. They Sprint to catch their prey, much like in Left 4 Dead. Finally, each character fills a crucial role in storytelling, each having a different personality and special preferences for one another. Towards the beginning of the film, everyone is very unwilling to stick together, and are especially distrustful to the opposite group. But at the end, they come together almost like a family to keep each other alive and make it out of the carnival. A lot of this shares heavy resemblance to Left 4 Dead.
@Soviet who Cuts Yeah, would have been cool to see the specials hunting them down as well. I guess they technically have the uncommon infected to deal with, albeit they are fairly different from the actual game.
11:03 Riot armor can cause the wearer's body to heat up much faster than without it, it is also heavy which is not ideal when you're running away from a horde of zombies
Fun fact: The riot officer and the CEDA hazmat infected were supposed to be swapped, so you would see the riot officer in Dead Center and the CEDA hazmat infected in the parish but was changed for reasons unknown (or at least unknown to me). that would probably explain why you see a riot officer in the L4D2 intro in Dead Center.
I never knew the gibbs zombie was even possible in being spawned lmao. That's cool but Ive played l4d2 since it came out on console and pc it must be crazy low of a chance.
Yeah it’s a 5% chance of seeing him, he has 1000 HP, fireproof, and if he hits you. It covers your screen in oil (similar to the mudmen but not mud). And if Ellis sees him, he yells “NOOOOO” which is kinda sad.
Fallen Survivor has to be one of my favorite uncommon infected. They’re supper rewarding if you manage to catch one but the unique gimmick to them being they run away and have about 1,000 HP but can still be 1 shot by a melee weapon. They have great fashion in my opinion but I’m not sure why they’re fire proof (at least according to the wiki).
"Why don't they wear armor in a zombie apocalypse?" Based on the ZSG style of zombies, armor is heavy and you want to run when you can rather than fight, plus, it's the same cons as not wearing form-fitting clothes, it gives them areas to grab at you. It's the same backwards seeming idea of using a bike versus an armored car or plane. It's quiet and you don't need fuel as long as you find fresh water and food and they require minimal maintenance.
In my years of gaming Ive only seen jimmy gibbs twice.... And if I remember correctly he had like a crap ton of health but melee weapons killed him easily compared to guns
I don't think it was his survival instinct, I agree with krel on the fact that since zombies see you as monsters,(I haven't actually read the comics), he runs from these armed demons instead of trying to finally end the reign of terror.
I've seen Jimmy Gibb's Jr a couple of times but never on PC, he's actually more commonly spawned on the Xbox 360 Version of Left 4 Dead 2, he spawn's so frequently, one would assume that he is supposed to be there every time you play in that chapter of the campaign, sometimes the survivors give statements on Jimmy Gibb's Jr being Dead but it's not very often, the only time they mention him is when they see the poster of him or sometimes when they see him as infected, just like how they acknowledge The Midnight Riders posters in Dark Carnival, it's pretty cool they've added Jimmy Gibb's Jr to L4D2 (FYI Jimmy Gibb's Jr in Left 4 Dead 2's Xbox 360 Version actually is considered a Common Infected, he isn't as tough and hard to kill as The Fallen Survivor) I hope I've enlightened everyone on this a bit, I loved all these videos, keep up the amazing content! Edit: forgot to mention Jimmy Gibb's Jr doesn't apply Gasoline to the character you play as when hit in the Xbox 360 Version of the game.
Jimmy Gibbs actually only spawns every 15 days and its a %33 chance per campaign, I managed to see him last week after only playing for a few days after getting the game
if you look closely at the ceda guy, the gloves and boots are not part of the suit causing unwanted agents to leak into the suit and infect the person wearing it.
The armored zombies can be proof that left 4 dead IS in the payday universe. The stalker, a high class swat officer does a similar attack when someone is down, maybe it’s remembering its training?
A couple other theories on the Infected Survivor: 1. As the infected see the survivors as monsters/demons, it might be possible that there's a play on the survivor idea of the zombie apocalypse being "hell on earth"; because a survivor would see zombies, especially more visually terrifying ones like the witch, jockey, tank, etc., as monsters, and choose to either get them in an ambush or flee immediately, it might be possible that the infected survivor, possibly due to their most likely more recent infection, now have a flipped vision and see the survivors as they would zombies and zombies as they would see uninfected, almost in a denial-like state 2. My other thought is that considering their equipment and status as an infected survivor, they may mentally choose to run in hopes of not harming survivors; it may be possible that their time surviving and seeing so much destruction would mentally harden them, and coupled with a more recent infection, they might be able to resist enough to try to run rather than kill - however, this wouldn't really explain their initial attacking
If you got a copy of left 4 dead 2 (censored version) on steam you can get a free DLC that puts the gore scripts back into the game. the DLC was released when Australia decided it was ok with the gore
FAN FACT: Worker Infected were the only uncommon infected to not be recognized nor being commented by the survivors. The survivors will always saw them as the rest of the common infected
Wait, doesn't the australian version have gore by default by now? Afaik only the german is fucked and needs to rely on a workaround that makes one unable to play with most others.
I've actually encountered Jimmy Gibbs Jr today. I was playing the game on expert and I was fighting against the tank but suddenly out of nowhere, Jimmy Gibbs Jr shows up. I've recorded the moment on my phone and have posted it to my RUclips channel.
L4d should have a scenario where if a survivor dies, they turn into a zombie until they respawn. Whenever they do respawn the zombie should just drop dead
I encountered Jimmy when trying to pass The Atrium on hard alone, I retried a lot of times and I found him on the bathrooms hallway before entering the elevator, I killed and Ellis (me) screamed "NOOOO *cries *"
11:05 1. The crew uses the riot gear in both comics and TV show 2. In the comics they state, how they're getting cooked alive in those suits due to them being black and heating up in the sun. 3. Riot gear is as heavy as it is protective so wearing it over an extended amount of time would require immense strength to still keep up your basic speed and strength, and even then you still at some point would have to take it off 4. After Glenn was shot in the chest with a shotgun while wearing the armor, yes he survived, but the shot deformed his armor making it harder for him to breath, so if you sustain an amount of damage on your armor it will become useless(walkers of course won't damage it that much that's true) and even damaging to your own health. 5. Riot gear is rare and often already heavily damaged, you see how hard it is to kill zombies wearing riot gear and not all survivors manage to put them down for good, so most armor you will find on zombies will be damaged and not protective anymore(and except for locked up spare armor Noone would just leave theirs out in the open)
What if the left 4 Dead games were movies and all those uncommon zombies we're just actors left from the movie because when you pick a game that there's a poster than that like the passing you got Zoe Bill Francis and Lewis like as soon as you pick a player like your player tag is underneath the character that you picked so basically everything is just a movie
I still don’t get why two countries, one of which was a prison colony, and the other was responsible for the murder of millions, have such strict rules on gore.

I seen fire fighter zombie rarely in hard rain, the passing, no mercy, dead center and in spasm fever. Also in the crash course. Even in the sacrifice. I only seen them in the 50th time playing left 4 dead 2
OK Finally! Jan 2, 2020 on the XBOX Jimmy Gibs JR appeared and I hacked him with a sword while playing Ellis. But to my disappointment Ellis didn't say anything, anyone else have this encounter? I was totally not expecting him to show up and I just happen to notice the white racecar suit.
Hey Zack a bit of an idea for a series. Maybe do a weapon stereotypes type of video or maybe survival series. In survival it's just the average game mode but see how long you can survive.
I've played L4D for 9 yrs and I haven't seen Jimmy Gibbs zombie as well xD
I never knew workers can't hear/smell loud noises
In the 12 years I played,Jimmy Gibs Jr. spawned for me 67 times :)
The game hasn't been around for 12 years bud
Arial Laguing Yeah me to I have never seen Jimmy Gidds Jr. and I have played a long time.
I grew up with this game and I’ve never seen Jimmy

The construction workers when they want to follow to see where everyone else is going: FREE LUNCH?!?!?!
Jimmy Gibs can spawn on other maps as well. I've seen him on parish and thought he was just a tougher common
Being Australian now explains why this seems so much more gruesome.
ellis screams NOOOOOOOO when you kill zombie jimmy gibs jr
tbh i actually encountered jimmy gibs when i was playing it on my childhood
I have played for 3years now but I have not seen any uncommon deads except ceda and security and mud zombies
I've only seen Jimmy Gibbs twice in my 5 years of playing😂
In Australian version of the game there is dlc to add gore to the game
Zack, that ten second deserves a thumbs up its self😂
I saw Jimmy as infected back at thursday and i felt very lucky for some reason
The technical order is the passing is the second one
9 years without a single Jimmy Gibbs Jr. Damn
I like the Anti-Riot Zombie though. Where the heck are the Shields?
But no Combat Army Zombies? Or they're eaten not infected?
Hey Zack a bit of an idea for a series. Maybe do a weapon stereotypes type of video or maybe survival series. In survival it's just the average game mode but see how long you can survive.
the construction workers were task to blow up the sugar mill, to prevent witches to come in the area
I Know That You Might Not Believe Me...
But I Saw Jimmy Gibbs When I Was Playin
Well That Was Years Ago
When I first saw the Fallen Survivors I thougt they were Nazi-Zombies, since they ran away so fast, that I couldn't get a clear look at them.

the construction infected do 20 points per scratch thats more than the charger
I've found jimmy gibs jr once in the 5 years I played
I could’ve sworn that construction infected were immune to headshots
Nooo I will miss this but I can watch it again and please don’t leave us for your work
I thought you were gonna make this a series instead of one video
