Most pulse machines have some difficulty IDing iron at depth - even the ones that cost $8000! But the Hi/Low tone on the TDI can help you dig less of it for sure. The general rule of thumb when prospecting is to dig every signal though.

@XplaneZ i had the Garret AT GOLD VLF and it ground balances very well in HIGHLY mineralized soil [ they have a demo online ] anyway i also had a VLF AT PRO and as much as they are very good units and WILL find Gold, generally a PI is simpler to use and the TDI Balnaces in the most Hot soil anywhere in the world - you can put a small gold nugget on a Hot Rock and once the TDI is balanced it will still scream at the Gold - and goes awesome deep - btw you will not see many Pros using a VLF
Not necessarily. Vlf is for finer gold/ surface gold and PI for deeper/larger. PI doesn't really discriminate, because mono coils can hardly do that. DD coils do better at discriminating metals. I use my TDI primarily, but once i find something and PI machine stop producing finds, i will go over with GMT which is vlf and sure will find some more smaller gold in the same patch.
Nice job, very well explained. Thanks!
I have just obtained one of these . Any good advice for best settings in beach
So would you say, that machine would be better overall for audibly being able to isolate iron from solid more precious metals in any soil
