Oginoya’s"Toge-no-Kamameshi" was once sold as an ekiben (Station Bento) at Yokokawa Station on JR Shinetsu Line. Climbing the extremely steep mountain pass between Yokogawa and Karuizawa required stopping for long periods of time to connect locomotives to the trains. Each time trains stopped at the station, Many store staff came to the train windows to sell lunch on the platform. When leaving the trains, all sales staff lined up on the platform, and bowed deeply to the passengers in the train . This sales service ended at the same time when JR Shinetsu Line discontinued the opening of the Shinkansen in 1997.
