- Spandau Ballet’s Martin and Gary Kemp visit the BFI Southbank to talk about the sequel to their hit 2020 mockumentary The Kemps: All True, which airs on BBC Two over Christmas.
This time, award-winning documentary filmmaker Rhys Thomas OBE follows the brothers over a whole year as they make a biopic, get divorced and form a supergroup. Naturally, not everything goes to plan. Michael Kitchen returns as the Kemps’ long-suffering manager, alongside a number of big-name cameos.

BAFTA for Best Scripted Comedy 2024, surely. And this is such a fantastic interview, thank you.
Oh this was brilliant from beginning to the end! I haven't laughed so much! Please make more and well done the Kemps for being the subject of laughter!
Almost finished watching it, paused to watch this interview. Absolutely brilliant laughed so hard.
Gary: “I’m a pretentious twat, obviously”
God love him 😂
I think that’s what makes him such a great songwriter. He’s aspirational but very honest with it.
This was my favourite show Over the Xmas 🤣💕🤣
That was hilarious. They are great actors taking the piss out of themselves. When there music is 👍
Gary really has great comedy timing. ❤ It
I’d love to see Ross Kemp involved. If only to hear him tell the Kemps “I’m not your bruvva!”☺️
Watched it last night. For me, Michael Kitchen playing their manager steals the show. Had all the best lines. At times reminded me of Bill Nighy’s character Billy Mack in Love Actually. No filter. Just says what he wants.
Michael Kitchen originally played Farrow in THE LIFE OF ROCK WITH BRIAN PERN. That was made by the same team. It’s hilarious too. The Kemps is fantastic.
Brilliant , great fun to watch 👍🏻👍🏻
The gift of self parody …. Brilliant guys, my Xmas tv highlight………how about a Gold Pern next……
GK‘s obsession with Tony Hadley is real, isn‘t it? He really must try to get over it, it‘s getting really sad now.
Does appear that way. Tony has never revealed what caused him to finally cut all ties with the band but we can probably guess that Kemp Snr was behind it. Wonder if he was in some way trying to send a thinly veiled message to Tony that he still wants to call a truce and try and patch things up. Sadly I think there’s more chance of peace breaking out between Israel and Palestine.
@@RsR6969Gary doesn’t want to patch things up, he’s done with Spandau. But he sure had to be a lot more positive about Tony than he was in the first mockumentary, because fans of the band were really disappointed about the way they treated Tony in that one.
I loved the Kemps when they played "The Krays" in 1990.
Don't expect the same thing with this show!

That the guy from pie in the skie love child?
I will 'Never' forgive Martin Kemp for playing the part of Father Christmas in a proper gander film encouraging the public to get a medical procedure in 2021. You sold your soul mate!
That’s a shame. He’ll be gutted if he reads this. By the way it’s propaganda.
The Kemps would sell their mother for money.
Is this british humor? Not funny at all.
If you're not British and didn't live through 80s pop, then no, you just won't get it.
Humour is so subjective, always has been always will be. Fair enough you don't find it funny, nobody is forcing you to, but plenty of us did. I'm getting fed up of people complaining all the time and trying to get things other people enjoy shut down just because it wasn't for them. If its not for you go and watch something else!
"Humour"
😂🤣🤣 Priceless! You really crack me up!
Yes it is. And it’s brilliantly funny. 😂
Brilliant
