That boy can groove. I tell you..5 and 6 string basses is cool..but there is something about the growl of a 4 string jazz bass or jazz style bass. it just has that signature mid range growl that you cant get out of a 5 or 6 string. they have their growl in their own right..but a 4 string jazz bass growl..whewwww

The low E been around for the past 200 years" lolol...he is right. And you look at all the cats like Marcus, Victor Bailey, Stanley, Larry Graham, Victor Wooten, the late Wayman Tisdale, Jeff Berlin etc.....these guys all made solo albums..and all of them predominately use a 4 string. So if they are doing and have been doing it for years, it shows its not really necessary.
So I'm confused,Matt was talking about MTD basses being his choice. So whose Modulus is this? I was surprised to see a player like him with a 4 string. I have a Modulus Jazz too but mine has the two stage D tuner so I can go to D or C with it . But I guess you can't completely get around a 5 string when you play gospel music... or can you.?
The Modulus belongs to me. Matt plays the 5 String MTD which I don't have in the Bass-ment. Most gospel cats play 5 but a lot of them do revert back to their 4 at times......
