Agreed that wood will make most of our work look better ! But it's the artistry of knowing what to remove and how to present it that brings out the best in it , as you've just proved ! ❤
Although not your original plan, but as turners i believe the wood shows us what it wants to be and our job is to listen and create something that highlights the natural beauty that was hiding inside. Cant wait to see what u spin up next
Impressive. So it didn't turn out like you expected, still a gorgeous piece. I've always said that we only release the natural beauty of the wood, and the wood will tell you what it wants to be. Now I have to get some olive wood 😅.
Beautiful bowl Phil, I love the finish with that finishing oil the most, it looks so soft and brings out that gorgeous grain.... Great work as always... Thanks for sharing 👊🏽
Well Phil 3PM finally showed up. Been looking forward to this all day and it was worth the wait. A real gem you uncovered there. Thicker bowl gouges offer a great ability to resist vibration and allow you to take bigger bites of the wood, Richard. They are just stronger. 😊
Lovely❤ Beautiful grain.
