This an interesting video I stumbled upon. I was born and raised in Winnipeg but flames was my team growing up until jets came back. Love this! And love flames and jets for life!
You might remember Bowness taking a leave of absence during the Florida road trip last year Arneal took over AND DID REALLY WELL, so I'm not surprised how well there doing.
It's true, but Arniel also had a horrible losing streak the other time that Bowness took time off. I think he lost 4 of 5 or 5 of 6 games in their one bad late season losing skid. Having said that, I openly admit I was dead wrong about them picking him as coach this year. I thought it was a huge mistake to go for someone without playoff experience, but so far, he's proved me wrong.
Niederreiter, Appleton and Lowry line would be the top line on several teams in the league. It's not until that line comes out that you realize not only is the opposing team not as big or fast as the Jets 3rd line.. but they cannot compete with the skill, either. These guys have hands.. they aren't just there to wear you down.. they make you pay, and they score some goals as good as the top 2 lines do,.. just slightly less frequently.
Chevy is the Jets secret weapon, always has been. He's the most underrated GM in the league. His detractors are all boneheads who think they know better when it comes to trades and drafting new talent.
Yea but look what happened to teams that dominated the regular season and end up getting eliminated in the first round...I'm from winnipeg so I'm not getting excited just yet and neither are the jets..Take it one game at a time that's there plan..
Great start, but what this team does come playoff will be what matters. If they don't at least make the conference finals, it's not good enough, and this start will just be footnote. When this team does hit some adversity, how are they going to respond?
I'm not convinced. They have a history of starting strong and limping their way into the olayoffs in the last 1/3 of the season, to be one and done in the playoffs. I'd still pick Dallas, Edmobton, or a healthy Colorado in a 7 game series against Winnipeg.
With that line of thinking, we shouldn’t be talking about ANY team until last 20 games. Tell the Toronto media that because every year, the Leafs are winning the cup from day one of the season start…we all know how that goes. Be big enough to give the Jets more credit than the TO media.
@@Carla-tp4gs -- exactly right. This notion some have that "none of this matters, talk to me at the playoffs" etc is ridiculous. No team makes the playoffs without winning these regular season games. These early games matter. And the Jets are killing it this year in legendary fashion.

The slaughter the Jets inflicted on the Oil in game one should have been their first clue. No sweeter way to start this season, given the events of last year's post-season.
The Jets have the easiest schedule this season with only 6 back to backs. They have not had any so far this season. The Leafs have 16 by comparison. Most teams have around 12-13. The schedule makers suck. Each team should have the same amount of back to backs and each team should play others on their b2b the same amount. I actually like the Jets a lot, but lets keep this conversation balanced. The schedule advantage which the Jets have had vanishes in the playoffs.
Logan Stanley is neither mean nor “a player” and if you were wondering what was wrong culture wise before, it was Blake Wheeler. Guy turned into a cancer his last couple years in Winnipeg. He was to most upset about Rick Bowness calling the team out against Vegas, and said as much in his exit interview. Next thing you know he’s gone and the team is good again after just squeaking into the playoffs because of a historically bad 2nd half of the season
That's because you're still one of 16 playoff teams in the most even parity professional sports league. By the way, the chances for winning the cup with the president's trophy are higher than without it, it's just this stupid meme and confirmation bias that this "curse" keeps getting mentioned.
