There's a non-stock car wreckfest which was the 1992 Indianapolis 500 with an unbelievable attrition rate that made this ARCA race look docile and filled hospital beds at Methodist Hospital with racing drivers.
@@supertornadogun1690 Heim isn't even that good. He's only good because he's driving factory backed cars in a dead ARCA series where only 5 decent cars show up every race, once he hit the truck series he hasn't been impressive at all...
what amazes me about this race compared to modern ARCA is that they can have 3-4 big ones and still have a decent looking field size, whereas now you can have a 3-4 car crash and that is basically half the competitive field
Thanks for the awesome upload i remember watching this when i was a joey logano fan 💯 just total carnage. One of my cousins was a pit crew member for matt carter
If you want an idea for a crash filled race you should do the 1999 Discount Auto Parts 200. This was a Goody's Dash race from Daytona that saw three red flags.

The definition of ARCA brakes right there
I came here just for this comment. Was NOT disappointed. The origins of ARCA brake weekly.
Yeah, there's a reason that phrase exists.
Oh my god is that my childhood saying that?
True
did i just... refind you?
Despite the many cars that wrecked out, more cars finished this race than started most races this year.
That says so much
@@cashkenterprises5584 Is ARCA dying?
@@extragoogleaccount6061 yep
@@extragoogleaccount6061 It’s dead, only rich kids are left with TRD factory cars

Me too

The 2nd big one lasted for literally 28 seconds. Absolutely ridiculous.
Man that hit on the last yellow, god damn
Remember back when arca was cool
It still is cool
@@UnderdogRacingFan not really

Seeing a Home Depot car not numbered 20 is so weird.
It feels like a sacrilege
I remember seeing that last crash on TV live and thinking the worst because it was hard to tell just where he was t-boned at.
ARCA… Amateur Racing Crashers Association
They never fail to produce lol
It's gotten even worse... The only racers left are rich children in TRD factory backed cars...

True as heck
Oh, ARCA, you never fail to amaze me at superspeedways.
Sure wish they’d bring the Speed Channel back.
Good news! NASCAR is considering a new TV channel
You can really say any ARCA race at Daytona is a wreckfest
Facts
Nowadays, there aren’t enough cars for it to be a wreckfest
@JGR4LIFE talladega nights lmao

I got a couple Cup series wreckfest ideas. The 2005 Coke 600, 1997 Interstate 500 at Texas and the 2004 Aaron's 499 at Talladega
Also the 2016 Geico 500 or either of the 2009 Talladega races
2019? 2020? Bush clash, basically any Daytona or talladega race
That Sheltra crash still makes me cringe.

Michael Phelps did race car driving before he pursued a swimming career?
Differeht Phelps
(also by this time swimmer Phelps had already made a name for himself with his utter domination during the 2008 Summer Olympics)

Talladega when Brad smith wrecked.
ARCA would be better if they fixed the brakes and gave them better equipment.
Michael Phelps?

Larry Hollenbeck was a Joke. Did Not Belong. Then nearly Killed Patrick Sheltra.
Throwback to when ARCA was a REAL stock car series unlike the composite body garbage we have now.
