      Hello Mariel,
apologies as I have just seen your comment. Do you have any classmates or friends there? Advice would be to hire a room on a hotel around the university for the first days until you find a place that suits your needs. If you are traveling alone take the taxi from the airport to the school, it shouldn't be more than 100 RMB, make sure the driver turns on the taxi meter instead of asking for a price. You should have the following apps: 'Pleco' a translator, 'Wechat' Chinese version of whatsapp and Facebook and 'Ian GZ', an app with main addresses of restaurants, hospitals and shopping malls. If you need any more help you can e-mail me: mthdiazp@gmail.com

      Hello Onizuka,
University administration staff in your faculty will recommend you a very detailed list of places.
From personal experience however, think for the first week you can live in any hotel around campus until you find what is more suitable for you. Hope you enjoy your time and experience there and let me know if you have any other queries :)

Hi there, i am potentially studying for 6 months-1 year at the university, can i ask what student dorms are like?and why would you recommend staying in a hotel for the first few days? How far in advance did you apply for dorm rooms as well? Lastly what is the structure of the courses and could you tell me the semester periods and dates of study at the uni. sorry for so many questions haha. Kind regards
