    Happy new year man.
Ultimate Spider-Man Omni 2 I sold recently for £170 aswell as the first.
The first one was alright but the 2nd seemed to tail off for me. Either way Spiderman is not for me.
    I'm 49 not 14.
The Immortal Hulk I bought the full omnibus trades after reading Moore's Swamp thing. A review I read compared them.
I soon realised it wasn't for me and certainly shouldn't be compared to the immense literary genius that is Moore.
Months later ( in a different mood ) I reread the immortal hulk before deciding to sell it.
2nd time round I actually enjoyed it. Enough to not sell them now but still not enough to upgrade to the mammoth Omni.
    I read 271 graphic novels/omni's/Absolutes and novels in 2023.

You are really in tune with what you enjoy to read and I love it!
I’m happy you had a better experience with Immortal Hulk the second time around.
I wouldn’t compare it to Moores Swamp Thing but I know people make weird comparisons all the time.
Thank you for watching! Hell of a year you had reading!
      Keep it up!!!

Damn shame Remender's Venom never had a hardcover/omnibus treatment. I much prefer that run over Cates, which I thought was just ok

    • @Illuminerdy_
      @Illuminerdy_  8 месяцев назад +1

I totally agree but I predict that Omnibus will come eventually. Marvel is really good at putting out omnis.
But I loved that run ALOT but not as much as Cates run. That being said it totally deserves a Omni for sure.
      Thank you for watching

I am only halfway through the most recently released Remender Venom Modern Epic Collection. It’s a lot of fun, but I’d say so far, not on the same level as Cates Venom.

    Great video
Your flick throughs are great, because you give us your overview and reasoning for each book, but, more importantly it allows us to see the art. Just from this flick through, I know the art in the Venom book isn't for me, whereas, the art in the Hulk and Captain Marvel books appeal to me.
Thanks for your time putting these vids together

Supreme Power, Moon Knight by Mackay, Marvel knights Punisher and my DD omni’s by Soule, Brubaker and Waid.

maybe because it was literally the first comic / comic run ive ever read, but i read immortal hulk a few months back, it was my first comic series i read manga, never read comics but i know decent amount about the hulk from the movies and what friends had told me about him, always thought he was cool, and i love horror. so it seemed like an easy pick, plus people said it was beginner friendly.
well id give it a 7.5 outta 10 it was okay the art really carried it for me. but the story wasnt anything really mindblowing and it didnt really go anywhere. the fights were WICKED short and unsatisfactory for the most part. my opinion though everyone has their own, and i also thought that it was odd to say its a great place to start reading hulk. as i was rather lost on most of the characters throughout the entire run. Also i found the tie in comics so strange, like the one where hulk takes venom over i was stupid hype for the next issue to not even mention it at all, maybe my expectations were too high, id heard unbelievably high praise for it, but ill also preface ive never had that experience with a manga if something was highly rated and i tried it i loved every single series.
but i read batman by jeph loeb and tim sale and well... lets just say i own 24 omnibus now. mostly batman. lmao.
also read hellboy after reading immortal hulk, and was just dumbfounded to find they almost tell the same story but hellboy does it 20x better, and did it first.

      Solid opinion on it!
Not everyone will LOVE everything but as long as we are diving into comics and keep reading and enjoying them also then that’s all that matters my friend!

I read those Hulk and Venom runs in single issues. Great stuff. Genis Vell sounds like it may be up my alley, but man, I have so much else to read, lol. Speaking of, I have that Superior Spidey omni, but I wonder if I should read any of Slot's run before jumping into Superior. And I gotta say, I'm 52 and I LOVE Ultimate Spidey. I've been reading it for the first time with these omni releases.

Comics are dead. It's been dead for more than a decade. When they focus more on inserting woke messages into the comics instead of focusing on stories, people are no longer interested in them. Now the majority of the people have moved onto Manga and Anime. Woke culture and activists haven't spoiled that industry yet.

While I disagree, I respect you having your opinion.
BUT this channel is for me and other fans of comics so if that IS how you feel I’m not exactly sure why you would feel the need to watch or comment.
Seems like that time could have been better spent watching, commenting or doing something you don’t consider dead or enjoy more.

Actually have Immortal Hulk waiting for me to read based on an earlier recommendation (that I believe you made). It's a constant struggle of "Get Caught up on 30+ years of Warhammer 40k Shit" or "40 years of comics to catch up on". with Warhammer definitely winning last year. Glad to see you're doing well man. Personally stick to the smaller brands, or anything other than Marvel or DC, so I think that''s accurate. I'm always so behind on everything, which I don't mind since I never have to wait for "current" stuff. I think only thing I regularly read and enjoy from Marvel is the whole X series. On Reign of X Vol 6 now. Pretty sure the only thing I've read from last year was the Someone's Killing the Children series (have the spin offs to get to tonight). I don't suppose anyone would care to watch my "Best of 2007 Comics List in 2024".
I DID finish Invincible last week. Other than Y The Last Man it's only comic series where I've actually read them all. Also one of the few superhero ones I've really liked. I started it before I found your channel but I'd actually given up on it about halfway thru and one of your vids definitely got me to pick it back up recent and finish it. So, cheers! On a side note, Y the Last Man was great and definitely one of the 3 or 4 that got me back into comics as an adult. They kind fumbled the ending but thats never bothered me. (I'm remembering a tv show that I'm guessing didn't do so hot....I was excited when I first heard about it but watched one episode and never cared to pick it back up)
Keep doing your thing bro. I always find something to like in your videos :)

Glad you found your way back to comics and welcome back!
I totally identify with the struggle of always trying to catch up so I hear you man!
I am very happy you read some stuff lately that you really really like and I’m double happy that I made the recommendation.
I appreciate you watching and being a part of this community and I also apologize for you finding it during a time that I’m moving so not a whole lot of content lately BUT Thank You none the less!
Keep reading comics and stay nerdy!
