I'm in the same boat, my car isn't legal whatsoever yet I'm one of the safer more alert drivers on the road. Once you get a 4wd and try to modify it you'll realise just how impossible it is to keep it legal. You can have a fully mixed out 4wd ENGINEERED that'll not turn any heads or look remotely 'cool'. Here in WA they want you to pay $2500 judt to have some bloke swerve your car and see if it's safe. And that's only for a 50% tire size increase WITH NO LIFT ALLOWED ON TOP OF THAT TIRE SIZE INCREASE. basically, if you want to run a 2 inch lift, a very common lift, you can no longer increase the tire size by any measurement at all.
