Love the Scarecrow getting all confused when Batman (Joker controlled) just laughs in his face. All that anticipation of seeing Batman's greatest fear and then that. Felt so good to see after listening him go on and on on those screens.
If Scarecrow had not hit Bruce with that second dose of Fear Toxin, he would have released Batman with the Joker in charge. He was within inches of winning. However, that second dose went straight to Joker, leading to his worst fear (being forgotten) and enabled Batman to seal him away forever inside his mind.

I think in Arkham Knight! Scarecrow could had placed Batman in the same furnace where the Joker was cremated, had to find an escape and when Batman does get out, he sees a hallucination of The Joker's body where it melts aways and attempts to attack him while he laughs at Batman!

When I got to Riddler and the hostage, I decided to go full Joker. Instead of just going for the hostage first, I aimed a little above Riddler and killed him, leaving the hostage to crawl away. I then proceeded to walk away before quickly running back and shooting her too. I feel kind of bad now.

Wow joker IS NOT AN HALLUCINATION, was the real one that was living inside bruces body (by his magic blood), the joker you control is the real one that he got to take control over his body when he got bruce to break that neck. Corrupting his mind was e door he needed to open to finish the possession. The fear gas HAS NOTHING NOTHING TO DO with joker being inside, the only thing the fear gas influenced is by helping joker from the inside to accelerate that process of possession. Of course batmans fear is becoming not joker, just a killer like him, thats real. But its real the joker too, when ypu control you know his feelings, reactions, fears and how he is aware of batman using the toxin against him. The story is so clear i think and most of you understood nothing.
Joker is the real one, but when he is about to finish the possession batman (the final fight is real joker vs real batman inside bruces body/mind) appears as the last resort to take joker down. Joker was the real one that was alive by his blood in bruces body. The more i read the more i think people (just a bunch) have played an special edition of arkham knight without the (important) blood plot. Eem robin says batman he LITERALLY has joker inside.
+Francisco del Valle Ojeda Yes Joker is a hallucination caused by both Scarecrow's fear gas and Joker's blood being in Batman's system. And Joker's blood isn't magical. The chemicals in his blood from when he fell into the Ace Chemicals vat affect the brains of people infected with his blood altering their minds and appearances to make them like his. Joker probably planned to come back from the dead through the people infected by his blood as a backup in case his Titan disease killed him in Arkham City. The Joker personality in Batman's mind is real but the Joker hallucination isn't.
At the beginning I thought the joker was a ghost until I realized later on he kept making references about wanting more fear toxin, then I quickly changed my theory.
@Mark Donald That big green thing that gets hit by Joker’s car is Killer Croc. I know this comment is from a year ago but I just wanted to make sure you knew
Batman was never afraid of the Joker. He was always afraid Joker was right and afraid of the fact we all have a little bit of Joker in us. Joker always proved to Batman that all it takes is one bad day. That is why Batman doesn't kill. Because if he did - he would be no different than the criminals he's after.
I like how Harvey Dent still has the attorney DNA in him. Even when it’s the Joker he still says “we should do things right” as if he’s Batman. Meanwhile the other villains are like “we should end him while we still have the chance”.
This would’ve been cool DLC. Gotham is burning. A what if story where Joker does take over. Couple of missions where you have all of Batman’s stuff but with the crazy joker fighting style and no restraint.
Batman’s worst fear was being like Joker. Then he became the joker, then crane gave the joker a dosage of fear toxin, Joker experienced his worst fear, losing to Batman and truly dying forgotten. When Crane gave Batman the third hit of fear toxin, his deepest fear at the moment was impossible, and so therefore was unable to terrify Batman anymore
I love how Only You is on during part of this sequence - such a chilling tune that really sets the mood of that part. Its similarly used in Far Cry 5 for basically the same reason.
