@@DavidVarkonyi-s6n Originality in jokes is possible, just absent in this remake, it seems. That's because producing a lazy, pale facsimile of a classic movie will still bring profits. The movie style and specific flavor of Airplane and Naked Gun were authentic and different at the time. This movie is an attempt to recycle that, not to produce something as innovative. Even to the point of using ancient one-liners (such as that about manslaughter). It's poor.

Leslie had this clueless yet comedic reaction in all his scenes and lines, that I will miss and treasure, which made his role so outrageously iconic. I am happy to see Liam pick this role up and truly cant wait to see this.
I don't know why they didn't cast Steve Carell in the role. He would have been perfect. He has the same deadpan comedic sensibility as Nielsen did.

The coffee gag was perfect, and the OJ Simpson jab is the most most Seth McFarlane joke I’ve ever heard. I’m so glad these kinds of comedies are being revived.

The idea of making a new Naked Gun movie WITHOUT Leslie Nielson is SO audacious...
... but the casting gag of Liam Neelson ALONE makes this movie worth it. I'm speechless. Bravo. I actually can't wait to see this.

No lectures, no moralizing. Just plain cheesy stupid fun.
Leslie Nielsen used to say that as an actor you can't acknowledge the joke or it won't be as funny, you have to act like the absurdity of the situation is the most normal thing in the world. And he brought in his experience as a dramatic actor to achieve that when he started doing comedy. So casting one of the most serious dramatic actors in Hollywood for this movie is the perfect choice.
The movie didn't need remade, but even so, I can't believe they didn't cast Steve Carell as Lt. Frank Drebin. He would have been perfect. I can't take Liam Neeson as humorous. He's just too serious of an actor.

When I first heard Liam Neeson I thought it would never work. Then I remembered what made Leslie Nielson's comedy work was that he played every scene as serious as a tomb, and if Neeson can commit to the same, he comes from as serious drama background as it gets, so this could really be something in the way Steve Martin's Clouseau kind of wasn't.
This one is going to be one for the history books 👌 Every other reboot falls short.

I am literally in tears laughing 😂. I used to watch these movies all the time with my dad when I was younger. He passed away 2 years ago and I was really missing him yesterday on Father’s Day. The outrageous jokes and sometimes stupidest ones (walking out with the chair took me out I won’t lie 😂) was so unique to this era films like it. But Naked Gun was always a class of its own. I wasn’t sure how I felt about any of it, the remake, Liam Neeson….but wow I’m sold and I hope they didn’t give away all the best parts. But this made me so happy, I wish was dad was here to see it with me.

@@blackman9291Leslie Nelson was great! He's unreplaceable. So if the older generation love this remake, I'd blame the Eggs Benedict or the medication they're taking. I remember my 80 year dad watching that show on MTV called "Most Wanted." It was rap music with Snoop Dogg but being heavily medicated my dad thought he was watching "Americas Most Wanted."🤷

Out of all movies to remake, this one is it. One of my favorite movies from childhood. I am excited for this one. I think Liam Neeson will do this justice.
