I'm so stoked to share this NO-SEW #DIY Fringe Skirt with you guys!
It looks so expensive and impressive but comes together really easily.
It's all about getting those markings on your skirt so that you have a guide for you fabric glue. that's it!
I chose to do double layer of fringe, which is why I went through 9 yards of Fringe.
******************************
MATERIALS
Fringe - 8" long Silk Chainette Fringe, 7-10 yards from Mood Fabrics
Fabric Scissors- bit.ly/2WwnsKB
FABRI TAC- amzn.to/2Fl5PDH
FAQ
SONG AT THE END- love me like a stranger by Basixx
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS- Dry clean or you can spot clean. If a few pieces of fringe get dirty then you should grab some mild soap, and hand wash those few pieces. Rinse them clean and hang the skirt up to dry. You can use a blow dryer to make sure they dry straight
HOW MUCH FRINGE DO YOU NEED: Measure your skirt or your body. You want to measure the circumference of each row times how many rows you'll want.
Then add those together and divide by 36 (one yard) and you'll know how many yards you need.
HOW TO MAKE A DRESS VERSION- It's an identical process but you just keep going all the way up the dress. Mark your lines from the top and just keep applying the fringe up to the bust.

A little tip I’d add to this; pin the bottom layer of fringe and then try the skirt on to ensure the final length falls in the most flattering part of the leg. If you’re not happy with the length, unpin, move the fringe layer up or down to ensure you’re happy before you start gluing or stitching.
smart!
That thought did occur to me, too. I'm only 5'4" and while I have a long inseam and a short body, it's something I have to consider with anything that exposes leg. It can be very deceiving.
James Paddick great tip 👍🏾
This is just superb, I've been looking for "gold flapper dress costume" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Panadarson Flapper Falbala - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my friend got excellent results with it.
Wow..very helpful
When I create fringe work, rather than double layering it, I just offset it by the width of the top ribbon. It still appears full and weighted but without the bulk of a double layer of ribbon. It also adds dimension to the fringe by by varying the length by 1/2 inch.
Ahhh so you would have like a mini stacks and then the larger one right?
@@vilaniacerylia6428, that just allows it to hang nice and feel comfortable without the bulk of a double stack.
Like adding one ribbon right under the next, and so on.
@JasonMoodie great tip! I want to do a dress and I was worried about the double layer weighing it down, especially because I plan to sew it on.
My mother had a gorgeous green dress with fringe like this in 1940. Everything old is new again 🤗
Rewatched this. Was on a funk but watching you do this lifted my spirits.
Oh my gosh! The color and style are a perfect “10” 🖐🏻🤚🏻

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ❤ this 57 yr old will be buying some fringe and ROCKING a renewed skirt 😍😍😍!!! I'm so glad I found your channel 💖
Love the color! I am contemplating upcycling a pale peach dress by adding a fringe moment to the skirt. Thanks for the idea.
why contemplating!!? do it!
Hi.. I'm a first time on your channel, I'm 59 yrs young and I love all your tutorials, your so very inspirational to me. your amazing and very talented.. I'm definitely going to try this skirt love it. Thanks your awesome.
What a wonderful diy! This skirt is so lovely 💖
Thanks DIYD for "taking us along" on the skirt "shopping". Sharing the experience of failed options and eventually finding the perfect one was most encouraging! And that front yard rooster strut is totally the way to go! Twirl it baby!
Omg that skrit is to die for. My mom was an amazing seamstress and made all my older sisters clothes. My sis would show my mom a picture of a dress out of like 17 magazine and my mom would make it from the pic. When I came along (20 years later) it was no long cool to have home made clothes (the only thing worse was thrifted clothes or God forbid Kmart clothes). So I never really got into sewing in fact I kind of hate it. I know how to sew but yuck. All that to say, thank you so much for all the work you do to make these out fits achievable for us reluctant seamstresses. Wait .....this just in seamstresses is so passe. The PC title is now Sewist. Thank God I have teenagers to keep me current. Anyway thank you for the no sews and the just a little bit sews. Fridays are my favorite days because of you.
I have made; Wrap pants, bathing suit cover up,
the sexy glitter shoes
A couple of your purses and I'm working on the belts. The fringe skirt is most definitely next. Thanks Orly

I think you paired it nicely with the white “t”. I really like fringe too. Thank you for the tips.👍👍
This is my kind of skirt that I would wear. Orly, I found you just recently and I just subscribed to your Chanel, like a week or so ago. Well actually, I saw one of your videos a year ago on T-shirt tie dye and didn't realize you were the same person that I had been watching these past few weeks. I am very fascinated in all you do. In fact, I just made my first T-Shirt peplum today. I am so excited to continue watching all your upcoming and past videos. I am so happy and grateful I found you.

Absolutely amazing that you were able to make that beautiful fringe skirt without sewing. Nicely done.
I wouldn’t be able to walk without constantly acting like I was hula hooping if I had that skirt.

Once again AMAZING!!! But let's talk about the hoodie you're wearing. Can you do a diy please⁉️
it was from my old clothing line
The DIY Designer why..... why😭😭😭 did your clothing line go away 😢whhhyyy😭😭😭😭
I love her. So creative and her outfits are elegant and super easy to make. Thank you for sharing
Love I want to make one just to spin around in LOL
gURL, SAME!
Really clever and I love how you give instructions for sewers and non sewers.
Ps I’d love to see how you made the second teal outfit...the top particularly. I guess same concept huh
That's just picture for reference
yes exactly. Just do the exact same thing on a top
Absolutely beautiful. Timeless, Martin's. Make it a little longer pair it with a single blazer and traditional Doc Martins.
🌸 wow I wanna make black one, I just learnt salsa 💃🏻 and I can’t wait to fake I know how to move my non existent hips lol 😂
This dress would distract from my cliffhanger aka the missing butt
I may have to use extra fabric to fake actual curves, cuz I’m bit boyish but I will see 😁
Well that was the best looking freak I have ever seen!! You inspire me to the moon and back!!!!!
The skirt is amazing. Luv, Luv, Luv
aw love that! amazing
This reminds me of Taylor Swift's costume which she wore for her song delicate.
Every single details are amazing
I’m going to make this as a mini skirt for NYE since it’s going to be the beginning of the roaring 20s
Sy Monroe dude, they did not wear miniskirts in the 20’s.
They wore their skirts like, down to the knee.
I ONE HUNDRED PERCENT need to make this to wear on a Monday for no damn reason! ❤ I just found your channel the other day, and I'm obsessed! Wonderful projects!
How much did the fringe cost and how long does the glue last. I would love to try this so I would like to know if it would fall apart.
Fabritac is way durable but the best way to be sure is to just sew it😊
Exactly same question
I used Fabric Tac for 3 layers of fringe each row then zig zag stitched on my sewing machine. I love this skirt.
It looks gorgeous. Love, love, love the color
I love the DIY but where did you get your sweatshirt?!
haha it was from my old clothing line
they have a shirt like that on amazon
Category is FRINGEEEEEE!!!! Love it!!! New subscriber hereee!!! 😍
Love it!! Question: guess you’ll have to dry clean it when needed, right?
My thoughts exactly, I threw a thin fringe piece into the wash and it unraveled on me...
yes it's totally a dry cleaned piece.
The final product looks so lush! I wish I had the confidence to rock stuff like this!
practice makes perfect ;)
Who doesn’t love clothes that dance!?!
I love your videos, easy to follow, short and straight to the point.
Why didn't RUclips add you to my recommend a long time ago?
just found your channel and now I can't stop watching all your vids! thank you for all these videos I can't wait to go down this rabbit hole and binge all your videos! x
I really love this idea/ color is spot on too! But I would have sewn this. I just wouldn’t trust the glue. It came out gorgeous and looks beautiful!
Wow the color match was spot on and the end results turned out fantastic! Gotta try and make myself one!
I have always loved fringe skirt. I am so pumped to try this diy
I absolutely LOVE this skirt!!
How lucky for me that I found you! I had this vision of making a a fringed skirt. Wow! Cant believe you solved my problem. Thank you for sharing your know how.
Aw I'm so glad you found me!
Ive made this skirt from scratch for me (since Im a plus size lady) and I made it reach the floor and in royal blue with a slit up the back since it was like a rectangle that fits over my hips with some ease for a few gathers in the back and it looks like a pageant gown skirt since it sweeps the floor as I walk and I used so much fringe. I also used your technique of doubling up the fringe to make it thicker for a ballgown I had designed where there was fringes and lace trimming all around the bottom 15 inches to give the skirt more movement especially while dancing.
You have an amazing talent for working out difficult designs and making them easy! I'm completely hooked! Thank you x
Oh woooow.....its just so perfect.......u
Have used a ton of fringe laces...thats why its came out so awesome.i wanna try it....
I'm new to your channel, finished watching your blanket scarf looks and went straight to see the now sew fringe skirt. Something I would have worn when I was younger, I'm 68, not for dancing but for Christmas or special holidays with family and friends. Going to try and find your other videos. Keep up the good work. God bless.
I love the result the skirt got a new flowy look
You never cease to amaze me! Great idea & great job!
