This track hits so hard. I lost my brother a year ago in a tragic mountain climbing accident. He was always so daring in his endeavors. I can't help but hear this song from my mother's perspective and weep.
This is on my playlist for songs to listen to when I need to cry, it's sooo good. I once made the mistake of putting it on my writing playlist and couldn't get anything done because I was crying haha

People who dig this song: please explain how this is not the most melodramatic song this band has ever written. Musically, great. Vocally and lyrically... corn cheese doesn't begin to describe it.
Corn cheese, seriously? I'm not looking to fight, I just think you might be missing the beauty of the song. It's not melodramatic, it's tragic, just like the story. But for Thrice fans it stabs the heart a little deeper (imo at least), because of a song they released albums ago called the "Melting point of Wax". Speaking for myself I see the pair of songs as a comparison between arrogant youth, and mournful adult/parenthood , both of which this band has embodied as it's transitioned through the years. Just my take on it though.
