My best deal was during the early 1980s when I came across an antique show inside a shopping mall. A nice, old woman had a bunch of hockey cards from the 1950s that I had never seen before. She said they were 25 cents each. I literally had 30 cents on me. I looked through the cards and chose the 1954-55 Topps Gordie Howe. I asked the woman if she could put the rest of the cards aside and I would come back later that day and buy all of them. I had to convince my mom to let me withdraw some money from my bank account (I was about 15 years old at the time). She finally agreed. When I went back, the woman said that since I was buying all of the cards (around 100 cards), I could have them for 10 cents each! So I got about 2/3 of the 54-55 Topps set, some 53-54 and 54-55 Parkhurst cards and some 57-58 Topps, including Johnny Bucyk and Glenn Hall rookie cards, all for $10.25. I completed the 54-55 Topps set about 20 years later, mostly through ebay.
The best deal I ever got was $10 on a Fleury Young Guns. Sold it for $300. I don't typically do such things but it was too good to pass up! I really enjoy these videos of yours. Keep em coming! -Matt
Seeet pickup! My best lot pickup was over IG and included a mcdavid champs rookie that ended up covering the whole lot. Still have $15-20 cards leftover from it as well! 🔥
I remember seeing this lot on eBay. I wasn't in the financial situation to spend that much on it, but I'm glad someone was able to do pretty well on it. Regarding best lots, I got a lot for like $15-$20 that had a Draisaitl OPC platinum base rookie in it. I also got a 32 card lot that had a good variety of decent autos and jerseys, though I don't remember exactly which cards were in it.
I was at an estate auction in 2002 and a guy had little piles of cards with a sticker on each reading “Two Bucks” I bought them all for 16 bucks. There was a certified Dale Earnhardt Sr auto, a George Brett rookie, a Ron Santo rookie, a Robin Yount rookie, a Mike Schmidt rookie, and a Dave Winfield rookie among the pile.

Can’t beat that!
Great video. Recently grabbed a Jiricek young guns canvas PSA 10 for $20 from a local auction
Great pickup, good reward for that extra digging you did
Thanks Liam!
Great find. It takes a bit of work to flip but like you said better than the stock market.
Absolutely
I had this lot in my watch list, just didnt pull the trigger in time
Love the Crosby and Malkin cards
Thanks Ben!
Well done!
Thanks Wes!
