After you cut the head of cabbage off, leave the plant and let it grow. It will produce 4 more small heads. When the four heads are the size of a radish thin out 3 of the heads. The remaining head will grow to almost full size. This way you can start harvesting sooner and still have more cabbage later.
Those beautiful white moth in your garden are there to lay eggs in cabbage/broccoli/cauliflower. Thats where those darn worms come from. Supposedly the moths dont like busy neighborhoods, and you can put fake moths on pins to make it look busy. Tulle netting cover is supposed to help deter the moths and the rabbits.

To hot in Texas to grow a lot of winter foods. I have a very hard time with collards. Cabbage and lettuce is out of the question here Texas here is only good for growing POT
