No one in Hashira level can beat Kokushibo the twin of the first breath user, in there fight he forfeited that battle because he come into realization how evil he became during the fight and let the hashira's do him the favor of beheading him already.
Didn't Koku only regret after he realize he can't regenerate his head the second time? Demon slayer fanbase really has some weird Mandela effect right there. P.s: Before anyone want to argue with me, please read again chapter 176 carefully. Unlike Akaza, Koku regen slowed down after first time he got beheaded due to red blade's effect. Koku got distracted by the reflection and Muichiro's red blade, which resulted in Koku being decapitated the second time. This time he couldn't regenerate and start to regret as he faced death (for 2 chapters more LOL, probably the reason people got confused that he gave up).

The red blade is supposed to prevent demons from regenerating their heads, but it didn’t stop Kokushibo, so he likely allowed his body to crumble after he regenerated his head.
