"Tina Peters, the former clerk of Mesa County, Colo., was convicted on Monday of tampering with voting machines under her control in a failed attempt to prove that they had been used to rig the 2020 election against former President Donald J. Trump.
After nearly five hours of deliberations, a jury in Grand Junction found Ms. Peters guilty of seven criminal charges connected to her efforts to breach a machine manufactured by Dominion Voting Systems. The jury determined that Ms. Peters had helped an outsider gain unauthorized access to the machine in May 2021 and obtain information that was later made public at a conspiratorial event held to undermine trust in Mr. Trump’s defeat to Joseph R. Biden Jr."

Ms. Peter gave up her life, job, reputation, husband, etc for a miserable lie. How pathetic. Sorry, but the way she interacted with the police when they came to her office made me glad she has finally been found guilty.

Why aren't these people in prison for 10+ years, they've sent people to prison for 5 years for not knowing that they couldn't vote yet, either not totally a citizen or cleared of previous prison.
That poor woman in Tennessee was cleared to vote in the 2020 election and given a notarized copy of such by the Dept of Corrections, and she provided it to the county's Election Registration office. A few months later, they decided they made a mistake and had her arrested and she was ordered to prison for 8 years. The district attorney and the judge were total a holes about it.

The only 'injustice' around here is that her and people like her are still walking around free, when an average person would be serving a sentence as soon as they were found guilty.
I'm sick of folks, like Tina Peters, getting airtime and yet, one would hope there's a benefit to seeing them held accountable. Doesn't seem to have any effect -- I've lost friends and family to this epidemic of cognitive impairment. Not always a fan of jail time for crimes but in this case and many of the Trump cases, it could be just what they need. First some reality to consequences of their actions and then biggest part keeping them away from their false information silos.
