Yes! That's the familiar sound of my childhood! I did the same thing this year with my Amiga 500, she's turned 30 back in April, her older bro Mac already riding his 30's.
But those sounds of FDD, the ticking and sudden rambles when we put the disquette in...I am sure you as well - know every little sound and crackle, we oftentimes exactly know what's going on just by listening to the computer!
For example, upon providing a direct executive command, or loading a disquette:
    - it does a few fast ticks then makes a long loud one (like a fuckin goose) then continues the irregular silent ticking = load and/or execution successful
    - a few ticks then suddenly a complete silence = syntax error or command rejected / also disquette empty
    - few ticks, shorter milder "goose", then the silent repetitive and rhythmical ticking = command accepted but there's a bug / dusquette successfully loaded but the software bugged out
    - few ticks, then shorter milder goose (same as above) but then a sudden silence = the same as above, but the bug is much more serious
    - one tick, then silence, then one sudden and loud screech (or a goose) then just silence = hardware error / dusquette is damaged
    - same repetitive ticking on and on = much more serious hardware error / dusquette useless shoul be discarded
    - one barely audible tick then/or just silence = drive died
And there are more. 🙂 Always the same, you couldn't go wrong by knowing them! 😄

Butterfly Keyboard, Core i9 Macbook, trashcan Mac, iMac Pro VESA mount etc etc. As for materials, well take one look at Snazzy Lab's video on the iMac Pro VESA stand and you'll see that whenever there's a chance to save a penny, Apple goes for it. As for customer service, go read into the whole Linus Media Group breaks an iMac Pro. Brick and mortar stores everywhere you say! I've never even seen an Apple store in my life, they put stores where there is high demand for products. And as proven in the whole iMac Pro fiasco, the genius bar is utterly useless. Eco friendly you say? Nope, that's just flat out wrong. While Apple now uses somewhere eco friendly packaging, this doesn't make up for the fact that they deliberately make devices harder to repair. Touch bar Macbook, iPhone battery lying about genuine part, proprietary screws, soldered ram, designs that fill up with dust that is uncleanable, I think you get my gist. Also, shame on you posting a comment looking for a fight, my comments was very old so keep your opinions to yourself. Thank you.

The first models didn't include an internal drive so you had to use the floppy disks (hard drives were too expensive). Later models came with internal hard drives where you could save the OS to them and not have to use the floppy drive.

Wow this brings me back. Our family’s 1st computer was an old Mac SI II from 91’ or 92’. This was years before we obtained dial-up internet via a free AOL disc from our local post office.
