Lots to look forward to by all the members but #1 on my list of things that have been announced is the upcoming North American tour by Hwasa. She'll be in Boston so I assume you already have a ticket. And lots to hope for and wonder about like what CEO Wheein is going to do now that she has assumed full control over her career. I forgot how great Wheein sounded in these stripped down arrangements. If she released an album of OSTs and covers she's done over the years with similar minimal accompaniment & processing it would probably be the one I listen to most often. We all love Solar when she's sassy and flirty or blowing the roof off with her power but like Wheein she always kills me when she gets soft and intimate on songs like Can't Take My Eyes Off You. And we all know how competitive the members are with each other so since Moonbyul and Wheein have released full length solo albums and all the other members will soon have toured the US my guess is that Solar's next solo album will be full length, followed by a US or world tour. Great videos, I love the Wheein starry night, probably one of the best parts of any mamamoo solo performance is when they solo mamamoo songs, they change feel or they will record backing tracks of each other it is always so perfectly done proving it doesnt matter which mamamoo member or how many of them, we always get mamamoo. I know solar is my favorite singer but it was Wheein I got to see live after I saw them live at My Con. The wheein experience live in concert is just something everyone should do. It is totally cool Wheein is the CEO of Whee In as soon as I can join stuff I will. She must have released that OST afterlife a couple weeks ago under her own company, it will do well, she has name recognition and is still a member of mamamoo who will back her. Solar I will literally do anything she tells me to do. I am so deep into the solar system, the actual sun could go out and I would not even notice. She is my favorite living singer worldwide, I have seen this video before but we cant get enough of the perfection of her singing. I think she knows pretty much every song wheein, moonbyul and hwasa sings and her doing chico malo was awesome. Unholy is to me better than the original and I am sure she chose it, does Solar seem like the type who would not completely control everything she does? That last duet perfect and the Franki Valli cover, you will find it on Solarsido, in a live video called 2022 year end karaoke video, this song is in it, she also covers some mamamoo songs but the gem in that video is she does one of the Mata Hari songs as well. For any albums, mamamoo members always keep that hidden. Solar is currently doing a second run of Mata Hari, though that doesnt stop her from covers for solarsido or doing solos, mamamoo+. Based on patterns for the past years, a mamamoo album should come around october 2025. Since Wheein and Moonbyul toured the US in solo concerts last year, perhaps Hwasa and Solar will also. A solar Solo album is possible since she only added to solar gamsung last year. Mamamoo+ is also a good chance because last year they only did touring and other activities, 2023 they released two albums. So maybe one is coming this year. My money is on a mamamoo album, the last was end of 2022, the toured that album across the world in 2023, Solos and stuff in 2024 and it would be like them to spring it on us as a surprise end of 2025
The duo with Wheein are Melomance. Love Shot is a particular favorite here. I love that Solar can just do the entirety of Chico Malo her and Moonbyul's part and sound so good. I wish in her solo concerts where she's doing Mamamoo medley's she'd include some of Moonbyul's raps. The Unholy cover is really one of my very favorites. She definitely chose the songs. If you are digging into Solarsido, I don't recall if you've done any of her dance covers. If not they should be done in the following order (in my opinion) Squid Games, Yummy, Say So, Positions, Tap In. That's going from mildest to most over the top.
