I have mixed views on Ayn Rand. Yes, her ideals of rationality, personal responsibility and independence are worthwhile. I try to follow them..greatest impact on me was that I should live for myself mostly rather than sacrificing for others at the cost of my own needs. However, she ignored the emotional aspect of human being. Not everyone can live up to her ideals (high achievement etc) and if one strictly adheres to them and fails, they may become suffer from self-downing. I prefer flexible value system rather than strict idealistic adherence....
