- I'm not dead, I still exist, and I still play VR! I've just been really busy for the last three-ish years since I opened a VR arcade. My business survived COVID and things are slowly starting to get back to normal at the arcade. I would actually upload more videos of VR games more often like I used to but I actually use my own personal PC as my reception desk PC at the arcade. That makes it tough to find time to record games with no other people in the room with me, as well as edit videos and render them out, which takes a whole lot of time. With the world getting back to normal, I'm hoping to expand some things and part of that is building myself a new personal gaming PC that I'll have at my house to also edit and render videos on. If/when that happens, I'll be able to start uploading VR gameplay videos again. There's a lot of great ones out there that I'd love to show you all.
Oh, and like I mentioned in the video, I did create a new YT channel that focused on Magic: The Gathering, specifically on EDH/Commander. If you're interested in that, I've only got a few videos up on there (it's just as time consuming to make these short Magic videos I found out), but here's the link and I hope to get some more content on there going forward: / @thisisacommanderchannel

Yeah. Grew it out since we had to wear masks and I figured it was the best time to try and see what I looked like with a beard and not have people see the slow process.

Oh yeah, she is doing great. My parents are both vaccinated and traveling around the US as much as they can to places that are doing well. Mostly places out in the mid-west, lower populations.

I would really like to, I do miss it. Sadly, the VR scene has become a little stagnant. With the success of the Meta Quest, it's not all that powerful of a headset and so a lot of games can't really do the big leaps in gameplay and visuals that early VR games were doing. Having said that, there are still a ton of VR games I do want to show off.
mhm I got the quest 3 its a good headset its just the battery life thats bad on it but if I want to extend it I can just nplay PCVR with link cable@@craig1287

Oh boy, there is a lot I could say. My arcade is all room-scale, if you're in a tourist heavy location then you could do free-roam, but if not I wouldn't recommend it as you will have very limited options. Make sure your lease is as cheap as you can get it, for me it is my highest cost. Second highest cost is my employee cost, but I have a guy that is very knowledgeable on the games, he knows them almost as well as I do, and we're able to catch people before they fall because we can 'read' them pretty well when they get into VR and we can tell if they're someone that's likely to fall. If you can, find a company that will insure the VR gear for when customers break them, I couldn't after trying many, many times, so I'm always trying my best to catch people before they fall and break gear or punch walls and break them. It's in my waivers that they fill out that I can charge them for any gear they break while hear, but I never act on that unless I can tell someone did it on purpose or after being told not to do something over and over. Those are the things that come to mind, oh, and do a lot of research into the getting the right VR gear. I use the HTC Vive Pro because of the durability of the HMD and the controllers, but it has been discontinued and so finding replacement parts can be pretty tricky.

In my project the games would be from a company with a pay per player quote, who offers an Arena management SW and technical support. The glasses to use are Quest 3, cheaper than HTC and lighter for the client. You leave me thinking about the staff, thank you. Regarding the location, here the investment is high if I opt for the best area, so thinking about online reservations and birthday parties I would opt for a location further away, do you not recommend this? Does the client value the experience of playing VR and moving freely? Does he return to the premises? thanks for your help. Nice to meet you. good luck with your project. I should probably know what you mean by MDM, but I'm drawing a blank. Like a software to monitor what the stations are playing and also manually launch them into games?

Ha! Man, life just sure loves to through curveballs. A few things came up. GF split with me, so I'm back in the dating game and date nights take up some time. My personal PC crapped out (motherboard died) so I had to get a new one and PC parts are just so expensive now and GPUs so hard to come by that, so that took a while. And now, my license for my video editing/rendering software expired and so I'm going to start looking at getting Adobe Premiere again which is what I used to use a long, long time ago. Finally, I'm looking at moving into a house and that way I can have a more permanent "studio" to recording things in and do all my editing.

@@midnightdevilz Thanks man. The dating game has been going well, I guess. Met a lot of great girls and a lot of them like me too, but holy crap did my GF leave a massive void that I've just never experienced in another relationship before. I envy those who are able to move on easily (or at least make it seem like they are). Meh, it's still fresh, within the last 3 months. Time heals all, so I just need to give it some more time.

Still alive. I've been very addicted to Magic the Gathering in the last 5 years, big time. I've also started to learn how to use Unreal Engine 5 and hope to create some VR games in the next few years.
