Just curious why do most eastcoast fishermen use spinning gear. On the westcoast spinning gear is obsolete. It can’t be for casting because we can bomb baitcasters a mile?

From everything I’ve heard Captain Tillman is one of the best offshore captains in the gulf! My parents live on Dauphin Island in a house grandfather built in 1977,78 so I’ve been fishing here since I can remember. And I think I heard his voice but didn’t see Captain TJ, I know he was on the Big Eye Tuna trip and I went to high school with him and he is a great captain also. I love how in Vic’s video he keeps saying he never realized that Alabama had fish like these!
U need to fish in Gulf of Mexico from surf side beach Texas. It was the best tuna I’ve ever ate and a super surreal experience w/ all the sharks circling because of tuna in the line. Wonder why sharks weren’t out on the tuna grounds? I lost a few tuna due to sharks biting the fish right off.

Great quality fishing and video. Thanks for taking some of your fishing time to capture it on camera and share it. We enjoy this! Ryan, when is this long term review of the Spheros 2021 coming? Bought a 14k to go surf fishing in Cabo and I’d like to know a bit of what to expect. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching! I’m putting any reel review videos on the back burner for a little while, but my view of the Spheros hasn’t changed a lot. The 6k in particular has issues with the line roller not spinning under tension with braided line. The bigger sizes are all fine and if you don’t need the extra drag capabilities of the Saragosa it’s the best value reel on the market right now
Hi , Ryan , I'm a new subscriber and this was by luck that I ran into this video . I started watching you guys catching regular size fish and when you guy's started out to there for them Tuna's and when I saw you fighting that tuna , it was epic , I liked the way you took your time but you were dying to get that fish in the boat . I would too !! Thank you for this amazing video and I'll be waiting for more epic videos 💯🙏🏻😇😎👍
Awesome video, as always but this was a special one! One tip if you start doin'this more often and want to chase true monsters(300lb+) I would recommend a rod that bends more into the handle (at least from the video) your right d seemed to be more of a progressive action, while this is nice for smaller fish and under less tension, on a big fish you want that rod to flex all the way, into a half circle and on a run maybe even more cause it gives you more leverage/a shorter lever working against you. Also if you want to chase monsters think about a 20k, I know it's not as much fun but aside from the extra capacity and better casting with the same line, it enables you to fish heavier line, so when a fish runs away from you (the boat can help with that as well) and there's a milder rod angle you can really lock up and tire those big fish out quickly, then when the fish is beneath the boat you need to loosen up a bit but giving the heat on those long runs really determines how the fight goes and how quick you have the fish beat. Definitely get the 4X RaptorZ trebles instead of the RaptorX if you gonna fight fish like this, just not worth the risk of bend hooks if they don't sit perfectly, you probably know this, but if the hook doesn't pierce all the way through but gets stuck on something hard the levers change and it'll bend at a fraction of the load it normally holds. PS: Saw you used a twin power on that first fish, was it a borrowed reel or did you change your mind about about it?
@@S.SABRY. honestly I can't give you a clear recommendation, on reels there's a lot of hard facts and clearly superior ones, with rods, as long as the basics are met, quality guides, preferably sic(actual sic, like made by Fuji, SeaGuide etc, not some resin shit), ideally titanium, though it only really matters for longer rods and actually only the first 1-2 guides(steel isn't bad but twice as heavy, so it can throw the balance off) and a strong reel seat(I highly recommend upwind cause down wind gets loose from usage and the last thing you want is the reel flying off and potentially taking the guides with it on a big fish) there's really not much to be said past what you can work with/like the best. A lot of bend helps to put on more pressure, seems like you already know this. If you want just a rod that can fight big fish a much cheaper glass blank is perfectly fine (though with good guides and a quality reel seat 200-300€/$ is still expected), only if you want the casting, lightness and feedback of carbon(and are willing to accept that it's easier to break the rod) you need to pay 500-1000$/€ for a rod that has the upsides of carbon and still the bend and fighting power of a glass rod made to fight fish with close to no regard for other things. One tip is to take a scale and set the drag to a pressure you want to be able to fish and then try a few rods in a shop to see which one gives you the power and feel you like.
