Hi, I think Doflamingo should be from Spain: his first name is donquixote that is based on Donquijote de la Mancha from Cervantes and the flamingo is because of the typical spanish dance 'flamenco'. Also all the arc of Dressrosa is based on Spain (sevillanas of Lola, spanish guitars at the beginig and the palace is based on the Alhambra de Granada) and the climate is the same as andalucia. As a Spaniard, I think saying doffy is German is really accurate. He really reflects the stereotype of a "guiri" in Spain (white people from other countries, usually UK or Germany) and its kind of a joke here saying they invade some of our villages close to the beach as there are a lot of them living there. So it also fits the fact that he invaded another country, being his home town Mary geoise and dressrosa the place with a better weather he lives in.
I also think that Doflamingo as as a spaniard is more fitting, his name, the whole Dressrosa theme involving arenas, and the other characters like that girl that look like a flamenco dancer

As a Spaniard, I think saying doffy is German is really accurate. He really reflects the stereotype of a "guiri" in Spain (white people from other countries, usually UK or Germany) and its kind of a joke here saying they invade some of our villages close to the beach as there are a lot of them living there. So it also fits the fact that he invaded another country, being his home town Mary geoise and dressrosa the place with a better weather he lives in.
