i think one of the terms for dreads in korean is actually 레게머리 which is pronounced “rege mori” or smth like that and the “mori” part means hair. ive read somewhere that the “reggae-mori” term was created to mean dreads because of reggae artists wearing this hairstyle but i may be wrong

It's interesting to see the culture difference in how the visuals and lyrics are interpreted. For me, I clearly saw the odes to the life that so many coloured people struggle through and for these reactors, they interpreted it as "I'm rich. I'm cool. Girls love me. etc etc". Brittany Speaks it’s really not hard to reach out to the internet and find someone willing to explain these things as a kind of cultural liaison. That’s not the best excuse. If they asked, I’m sure many people who can speak Korean would be willing to help assist in some explanation behind the scenes.
I understand that there is a deeper meaning to many things especially in music, but its just a reaction video. The purpose of the video is not to go into depth about what everything means and why its in the video, its simply to capture the reaction of the people watching. It wouldnt be a reaction video if it didnt have things like them saying "cabbage hair" or "reggae hair" because that was their genuine reaction to the video. Aside from that, it is also just very unrealistic to expect people to understand a culture that is not their own. Im sure you dont understand anything about their culture, so it is very unfair to expect them to know about this stuff. I mean, isnt that the reason videos like this even exist? We want to know what this stuff is like to someone who knows nothing about the culture, its interesting to see.
TLDR: yes, many things are very misunderstood, but thats kind of the point of making videos like this. It wouldnt be so interesting to watch if they already understood and knew everything about hiphop or American/African-American culture.

Idk from all the videos that I have seen involving non Korean artist that they react to I feel that all the symbolism or simple references that can be interpreted easily just goes over their head. Maybe because of their culture or how diverse people in the US live side by side that we get to experience different cultures daily. I have noticed this more with the entertainment.
