One thing that that comes to my mind about this graveyard is how the salmon return to the place of their birth, spawn and then die. Could something similar have happened here?

Meat-eaters turned into plant-eaters several times in the dinosaur lineage. This is one such time.

It is an extremely common misconception: Raptors could slash and cut with their sickle-like claws.
This is categorically false. Mythbusters killed this myth a long time ago.
Raptors were able to make puncture wounds ONLY with their long claws. But that is all they needed to do. Much like the bite of a Komodo dragon, a stab wound from a raptor would infect the victim with fatal bacteria, that would weaken an already weakened prey. The Komodo dragon often spends days slowly following an animal it has bitten - waiting for it to fall over, and they begin feeding while the prey is still alive.
And so we can eliminate the claw as a killing tool, and know it was only a clinging, grabbing and a puncturing tool.
Please don't perpetuate the lie of slashing/cutting claws on reptiles and dinosaurs.

So a guy does something he shouldn’t have but decided to help out the state. something that wouldn’t benefit him and the state still proceeds to punish him. Though they would have never found it with out him. Literally never. I think him doing the right thing should have granted him a little leniency. But nope. Find the Dino bones and pay the archaeologists to remove them (with the $15,000 fine) 🤦🏼‍♂️

It wasn't the state, but the feds. They're predatory and don't think logically, will prosecute selectively for political reasons. He should have had an attorney negotiate amnesty in exchange for the info. Look at the IRS who will drive a business into the ground, seize assets needed for operating the business, just because they don't think they're paying them fast enough. Then when the business goes bust all the employees lose their jobs and no one, including the IRS get paid in the end. Genius logic.
