    Hello, I see that this video has received 69 thousand views in 5 years. I did not expect this video to be so popular. In response to that, I have added English subtitles and translations into several languages. And I would like to re-visit this topic in the current version of Revit, 2023 or the 2024 version that is coming soon, to see what has changed about this topic in 5 years, and make an updated video about it.

      THE HANGERS ARE NOT ATTACHING AUTOMATICALLY

    • @Planta1Com
      @Planta1Com  Год назад +1

      @@Wasim82m The video shows the cases in which hangers are "smart" and other cases when they are not. I am just reporting what works and what not, depending on the category of the element. We the users have no control about these things. Please specify what case you are referriing to.

    Thank you for such helpful video, Can we add our own custom hanger to fabrication? if NO then can we edit the parameters of the hangers that are pre-loaded with fabrication?

    • @Planta1Com
      @Planta1Com  3 года назад

      Hello, @Estore4U, sorry for my late reply. It is possible to edit the fabrication families, yes, but just in their dimensions. Not by opening the family as usual with "Edit Family". Can we add custom hangers to fabrication? I don't see a way to do that. You can add parts from those catalogs provided by Revit. Or, you can use custom families as usual, not part of the Fabrication library.

      As explained in the video, this tool (Fabrication) does not work as well for the electrical discipline as it works for mechanical and plumbing. Even after years of making this video, that situation remains the same.

    Great Video! It helped me understand design by fabrication a bit, but it opened up for some questions. I need to add clamps to a water pipe system, your instructions work great.
    The problem is that I had the pipe in a cold water system which turns the pipes blue, but when I selected the pipe to design by fabrication it changed the pipe to a reddit standarized pipe (which im guessing its necesary to work correctly with the clamps) but also removed the blue color which im guessing means removed the pipes from the Cold Water system. Is there a way to work around this? I can accept not having the actual brand pipe families but I must have the water systems correctly.
    Thank you so much for the video anyways!

      Hello, @Mati, sorry for my late reply. I just tested what you described, in Revit 2020. Yes, after converting a pipe from model to fabrication, it looses the information about system (such as Domestic Cold Water). The two things are not connected, unfortunately. It would be necessary to add that information to a custom parameter of the new fabricated pipes, and add a view filter with color to keep showing the pipes with one color per system.

    is there a way to create hangers without converting to Fabrication?

    • @Planta1Com
      @Planta1Com  3 года назад

      Hello, @Musicians Digest. Sorry for my late reply. Yes, you can use custom families of hangers. Also, there are some add-ins with some very impressive capabilities for adding hangers to ducts, pipes, etc.

    • @Planta1Com
      @Planta1Com  3 года назад

      Hello, @Kay Moe. Sorry for my late reply. Color by systems, you mean? It can be done by addding a custom parameter to enter the name of the system, and then using view filters. If you are referring to other colors, please explain.

      Hello. This video shows families that come with Revit as part of the templates, plus the families that Revit has as fabrication parts. If you have the same version of Revit (in the video I am using version 2018) you should have the same families.
