Not yet. Dumping all my free time into the rental house hope to be done 2-3 weeks. After that im going to jump back on it. I left the cylinder soaking in transmission fluid. Next step going to pull carb and see if i can get to run on either to see if its even worth working on the carb

How does everyone bend that hitch down? I have the older model to your D R chipper. Mine has the opposed twin briggs instead of the v-twin, but i think the chipper part is mostly identical. I would never rent it out. The flywheel will bend if you get over ambitious about the size of what you can chip, if the wood is exceptionally hard, or if someone drops a sawed board into it. Go ahead and price a flywheel for it just for giggles. Its onlt 3/4" thick. I will say when you have the bed plate sharp and close, and nice sharp knives, these little chippers aren't too bad. That said, i want a heavier machine like a bandit 65, 600 series vermeer, 700 series vermeer, or something like that. Maybe even something to run off my tractor pto, but id rather be able to tow it with my truck.

I had a rachet strap around the tongue. The kickstand didn't have the pin in it. I hit a bump on the interstate, kickstand fell out, and broke the strap. It spent the rest of the ride home bouncing on the hitch

Dont have the funds right now to invest in a big chipper. I felt like the little bit of money spent on this, even if someone broke it i would still have made money after a few rentals.

@stumpnc if the flywheel is straight and you got it cheap, it would be well worth it. They're great little chippers in the right hands, but there's another issue with renting this model as well. Mine is a little older, and I see the updated the infeed chute on yours, but it it still short enough to take your arm off up to the elbow. If you look at ALL the new gravity/pinch feed models, they all have chutes longer than arms. The chutes aren't that big on these and are notorious for getting brush stuck in there either from crooked branches or when the branch gets down to all the little twigs and leaves. Cheating disaster is mighty tempting in this case if you know what I mean. I could see a glove getting snagged by a branch and in you go.

@stumpnc my hitch was bent just like that when I got mine. Flywheels are over $1000, clutches were $300 last time I looked pre-covid inflation. Most rental places around here start with a bc700 series vermeer for good reason.

@@matthewtaylor2185 that's true. I may just end up flipping it. Depending on how this motor goes
