I grew up with a kid with DS. He was absolutely utterly hilarious all the time. Heart of gold and a comedy genius too. I am certain the kid was fully in on the joke. Nothing wrong with laughing along with us (disabled people I mean).
It's from one of many of his skits he used to do called "The R******* Policeman" and he's 100% in on it and they're kinda hilarious lol.

Greg Benson's show! That guy's hilarious and the retarded policeman was one of his best series.

I had a DS kid who lived behind us when I was growing up too! His name was Nicky. He loved to watch I love Lucy with me and we would laugh and have such a great time!! His family was so mean to him. His older brothers would make him hold firecrackers and tie him up. This was the 60s so no one really cared. I was so young but I use to try to have him at my house for as long as I can because I was afraid of him going back home.
