- Let’s do another acrylic pour on a glass vase! It’s a great way to use the fluid art method to paint things other than canvases. I have found that my favorite effects and detailed layers are made by doing a ring pour!
Today’s vase is inspired by red roses, so I paired red and metallic magenta with black and pearl white to have some contrast. It ended up surprising, but gorgeous!
My paint is all mixed with Apple Barrel pouring medium, which is my favorite medium to use for vases because it really lets the colors hold their shape without stretching out too thin. I don’t have a set ratio, just add the medium to the paint until you get a consistency that flows easily!

I love the little bit of pink on this vibrant red vase!
Me too! I wish overall it had more of the maroon in it, but it definitely worked as a rose-themed vase anyway.
I love it Anna!. The way you left it you got so much more interest, after all, you really only see a side at a time and therefore you have more than one vase. Happy Mother’s Day to you and all the moms out there 🌹
Thank you!
I love how this vase turned out ! Great job!

Thank you!
Be back to watch after work!
Enjoy!
What do you use to clean the vase and do you spray something to seal it before you pay?
Soap and water, or an alcohol wipe is enough to clean it. I spray it with rustoleum clear gloss once it’s dry!
How did you take it off the cup. How long did you let it dry
It’ll be dry to the touch in about 2 days, but if you wait more like a week it’ll be even more stable. Just carefully break the seal that the paint forms on the cup, and take it off!
Pode usar essa mistura de pigmentos para pintar com pinceis?
Probably, but you don’t need nearly as much paint if you are using a brush!
Wouldn't thinning the paint make it flow better?
Yes, but then the colors wouldn’t hold their shape as well.
It is beautiful but why don’t you do it in a canvas also?
Good question! Two reasons:
First, I don’t prefer this paint mixture for a canvas. It’s very thick and textured.
Second, I don’t personally love the look you get from a canvas of drippings. Sure it “saves” the dripped paint but makes a painting that I don’t particularly love, so I just don’t do it 😉
@@AnnaBlountArt I guess those are good reasons for you. I love doing vases on canvases. I can always change the composition of the painting if I don’t like it. Hope to see more videos from you soon.
What is your paint to medium ratio ?
It depends on how thick your paint is to begin with! I don’t usually measure, I just use the pouring medium as a thinning agent until it reaches the right consistency.
Paint seems a little on the thick side
Yes it should be thick to help hold its design on the vertical surface.
