I love Nashville Barrel Company. My 8 year 132 proof single barrel is fantastic. I’m starting to think well done MGP is some of the best bourbon there is
I just got my bottle of Smokeye Hill in a couple weeks ago. It is definitely NOT a GTS killer. I'm actually quite surprise it has gained the reputation that it has. It's not bad, but it drinks HOT and young for certain...
@WhiskeyRow 100% agree. One thing you didn't mention that I found with the Smokeye is a subtle grassy note, which I'm not a fan of. Same grassy, hay note I find overpowering in regular Larceny (although I LOVE Larceny BP). I'm hoping that is just a fresh crack impression, and it subsides over time...
I wasn't able to pickup the newest NBC, but for me the first NBC WR pick I have is significantly better than Smokeye. Never tried Stagg or GTS so I can't compare. Still, Smokeye's good, and I like the cherry and hay like dusty kind of flavor that I've gotten when blue corn or heirloom corn is used. Actually I pickup that hay/grass/dusty kind of note on the nose of the Wheel Horse pick too and I tend to like it.
This was going to exactly be my comment before I opened the video and yours was first in the feed. SEH doesn’t even have the nose, much less the depth of palate of any batch of GTS. Just some bourbon bros starting up hype for their brand.
Do you label the Glenn’s with one piece of paper? It’s easy to see through it. I always use 2-3 stickers deep just so I cannot see the writing through the glass. Too easy to cheat. (I’m not saying you did because Stagg and Stagg jr are monsters that clearly stand out) I’m just talking about all blinds with labelled Glenn’s in general.
I label with a removable sticker. The writing is super small and it's usually only one or two letters. I really have no reason to cheat and with the editing of the video I could just look at the bottom if I felt like it. It does take away the fun of this if I were to look so I don't.

The NBC in the lineup is our most recent pick from them, "Hit Me Baby One More Time"... just an FYI

You and I are on the same page. It isn't bad for what is is...
Wow! What a line up. Im headed to Nashville and need to pick up some NBC stuff while I am there.
You should!
Not shocked with the order. Smokeye Hill is really good for the $80. But I would much prefer Stagg or GTS.
100% agree, Smokeye Hill has good viscosity but it tastes a bit grainy & way younger than Stagg & way way way younger than GTS.
I finally got one right! LOL
Considering price, proof and availability, it’s solid 👍🏼 I’m talking about Smokeye Hill
I agree! It is solid and the price is good when you can find it... People just need to chill on calling it better than GTS or Stagg.

Where is it available?

@@red5standingby419 I found my bottle at a local liquor store in Central ca.

The NBC and this was the second one and is still available on NBC's website if you want one
Wow that’s an awesome blind🙄
Appreciate that!
Smoke Eye Hill is no where near a GTS or even a Stagg. I think someone from SEH paid someone to promote it.
