2 best things that i want to do in one video! Triple 7 is an aircraft that i like the most, and Australia is the Country id like to live in. Awesome video!
All this time I thought they used a 747. That 777 can really haul! Proven to be a great work house. Ultra durable and easy to repair according to reports.
Glad you liked it mate! Certainly should come, a fantastic place to live and visit, best in the world in my opinion! (not that id be biased or nothing :P )
When I fly long haul this is often what I fly and I love it!!, i always get the extra legroom so i am close up in the bulkhead or an emergency row, my favorite airplane to fly on
You wont be disappointed, both our flights with VA where top notch, and as i said, very roomy cabins. Depends which aircraft you get, if you get VH-VPH, it will be the aircraft painted in the full Virgin Australia Livery and is equipped with the new interior. If you get any of the other 4 777's, VH-VOZ, VH-VPF, VH-VPE, V-VPD, it will be the hybrid Virgin Australia/VAustralia Livery, with VAustralia Interiors (still very very nice and comfy!)
I'll have to agree...that was a rather mild engine setting for take-off. 40 second roll and rotation from spool-up...confirms the pilots were rather conservative on the throttles....saves fuel after-all to use the advantage of a decent runway length...pilots get brownie points for being gentle on the equipment too!
I'am going on this route but SYD - LAX - JFK but on a B747-400 :) That is pretty impressive that they are using the 777-300ER; It would be reaching the limits of the aircraft's fuel capacity! Have a nice day :D
@AusAviation149 Doesn't matter how full the aircraft is, its about the runway length and weather conditions. If its a long runway then the 300ER can normally still derate quite a lot. Its very rare you do a full thrust take off in a 777.
yeah I was thinking that same thing, but then i did realize that the LA-Dubai route with emirates is operated on a 777 same with some of the long hauls out of JFK ( Istanbul being one), so it is possible
I just spot one of the Boeing 777 300 from Cathay Pacific departing Toronto just in front of an Emirate A380. It only runs less than half of the runway in case A380 abort landing and it was shocking and pretty loud.
that looks like a fairly standard takeoff to me, the 777 does throw you back a fair bit. not sure if it makes any difference but i was on a BA from Sydney to Heathrow via Singapore using rolls royce engines, im still stuck on who i should fly with when i go to LA next month, whether i should fly Qantas and try out the a380 cos i heard it had more space, (lets face it, i aint a small person) :p or virgin where apparently the flight attendents are really good
@DeniskaFromRussia Commercial planes don't usually takeoff with full power, it is a waste of fuel and can damage the engine in full power is on for too long, they use the amount of power they need to safely get airbourne most of the time.
Nice! If i was to return to NYC soon, i reckon this time round i would go on QF107 so as to fly the 747-400ER, espically now seeing as they have the new interiors in them! Would take them over the A380 anyday!
To be honest, that was probably the only time she made a noise, she was very good, didnt make a sound for pretty much the entire trip, only once or twice on approach. Now the kid that sat behind me on the flight from LA to NY? I was about ready to grab him, punch the window out and through him into the engine......
Yeah, I prefer the b747-400 to the A380 any day! The Qantas A380's usually handle the Europe routes, and the 747's taking over the US routes, I'm actually going on QF107 and i'm sitting in the bubble! I have seen the new inside in a 737-800 (Qantas) and its really quite cool! Have a nice day :)
While they did have that view, and i to disagree with it, it does not mean the entire airline is rubbish, alot of airlines had that policy, and i believe they are now changing it
@DeniskaFromRussia Hello, no I am not a pilot, but my farther is :) all I know is that Boeing/Airbus etc. do not usually use full power unless the runway is short or they are very heavy :)
@EASTYJAZ34 Full loaded 777 (i.e no free seats) max cargo and baggage, flight across the pacfic, extra fuel for bad weather round fiji, would have been very very close to full throttle, video does not show how much we where thown into the seats during takeoff thanks to the optical steady shot
ive heard off other people that it does have a little more room, albeit not much, from what i remember from the BA flight was it was a 3-3-3 layout as well, wouldnt mind betting thats just standard, anyhow, booked my flight yesterday and ill be flying with VA as shown above, just wondering what the plane will look like on the outside, i.e. Virgin Australia, Virgin blue, virgin atlantic? could you possibly give me a few pointers there?
I never try VA before. It will be my first flight with VA this upcoming christmas...just wanna ask you how does it feel during taking offf and landing...is it steady and stable? tell me sth abt it..m so curious
I wouldn't fall into the trap of listening to airlines when they laud the A380 having more space, because unless you go business or first, economy will be more cramped (IMO) because they fill them to max capacity, remember, all more space means to an airline, is more space to pack in seats. Plus the great thing about VA is they have 3-3-3 in economy, the seats where wide, and the cabin was VERY roomy, far more than i expected
What does all of this "sexist airline" chat mean? Is Qantas discriminatory in some way? (Sorry, I'm not from Australia, but would love to go there someday!)
The tv ad bought me here. I flew VA a couple times, great service, food and smooth flight.
2 best things that i want to do in one video! Triple 7 is an aircraft that i like the most, and Australia is the Country id like to live in. Awesome video!
Was a silky smooth takeoff, flight and espically landing! Be sure to check out the landing video into LA! Cheers!
All this time I thought they used a 747. That 777 can really haul! Proven to be a great work house. Ultra durable and easy to repair according to reports.
With both those GE90's spooled up, these things certainly do haul ass!
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it!
They are gorgeous engines, at least they kept the red stripe on them with the new livery!
Nothing like the sound of a GE90-115B spooling up and powering away down the runway when you're a spotter.
Glad you liked it mate! Certainly should come, a fantastic place to live and visit, best in the world in my opinion! (not that id be biased or nothing :P )

Fantastic machine, never boring, great share, thanks.
Very very true, and still holds with the cessna's i train on, given a good headwind, takeoff with flaps up, and she just jumps into the air

7 7 7 comfort. The BEST way to fly.
In the end, i do agree with you, but this video is meant to show the VAustralia 777, and on that flight, i received nothing but outstanding service
Liked the Singapore Airlines 777-300ER in the beginning as well..
Wow this aircraft climbs so fast! Not like a B747-400 that climbs soooo slow... Nice video!
Great video mate!

all i can say is SMOOTH!!!
I agree with all above comments. V Australia is the only way to fly those long haul flights to the USA...FANTASTIC airline in every way....
I just spot one of the Boeing 777 300 from Cathay Pacific departing Toronto just in front of an Emirate A380. It only runs less than half of the runway in case A380 abort landing and it was shocking and pretty loud.

Listen to those GE-90's purr. 115000 pounds of thrust per engine!
Nice! If i was to return to NYC soon, i reckon this time round i would go on QF107 so as to fly the 747-400ER, espically now seeing as they have the new interiors in them! Would take them over the A380 anyday!

Very nice video
Awesome video! Was it a full flight?
Spoke to a pilot who operates the 777-300 and he indicated that the engines were very powerful.
yessss lets go SYDNEY!!! are you a eastern suburbs or western suburbs person?
While they did have that view, and i to disagree with it, it does not mean the entire airline is rubbish, alot of airlines had that policy, and i believe they are now changing it

Flying is a wonderfull think !
Trust that it's extremely powerful.
ive heard off other people that it does have a little more room, albeit not much, from what i remember from the BA flight was it was a 3-3-3 layout as well, wouldnt mind betting thats just standard, anyhow, booked my flight yesterday and ill be flying with VA as shown above, just wondering what the plane will look like on the outside, i.e. Virgin Australia, Virgin blue, virgin atlantic? could you possibly give me a few pointers there?
You havent seen how Singapore Airline pilots do the full throttle on the 77Ws
VA economy seats are very hard/thin compared to other airlines - quite uncomfortable on a long flight compared to the older, soft cushion seats.
I never try VA before. It will be my first flight with VA this upcoming christmas...just wanna ask you how does it feel during taking offf and landing...is it steady and stable? tell me sth abt it..m so curious
If the callsign was "Oceanic" that would be very funny XD
Sounds like a coaster bus taking off on the open road but its a 777-300 Virgin australia airbus
I wouldn't fall into the trap of listening to airlines when they laud the A380 having more space, because unless you go business or first, economy will be more cramped (IMO) because they fill them to max capacity, remember, all more space means to an airline, is more space to pack in seats. Well, if that is over 90%. The second stage of the engine will not stands for the ground level air temp.
@DeniskaFromRussia No, they derate to preserve the engine. It isn't full power.
In reference to?
My bro was probably the F.O. on that flight....I'm jealouse 0.o
VAustralia doesn't even come to Germany but I know this Airline from videos of Heathrow or sth other ;)
Might be due to the higher temperatures in Singapore.
not full power, would be if you would hear a noise from the engine.
Most 777 economy class' are 3-3-3 like british airways
😍😍😍😍👍👍👍👍
This is not full power. this is only about 75-80% throttle. youd definately have rather large g forces on takeoff it it were full power
Me to mate! You know when I was a kid Thongs were flip flops. Who ever hijacked thongs (flipies) for a teeny weeny swimsuit?
Approximately 13.5 hours.
If Al i saw was the wing obey teh FA and keep the phone off before you get a fine.
What does all of this "sexist airline" chat mean? Is Qantas discriminatory in some way? (Sorry, I'm not from Australia, but would love to go there someday!)
damn right
That wasn't full power.
United doesn't have B772LRs
Crocodile1313 if you do go to australia go to Adelaide i should know how good it is because I live in australia
Ment to say really was.
UA don't and CO never had them.
Looks like you don't like flying:-0
In other breaking news, a plane took off from a runway today.
Not really,,
clowns.
